Have seen lease cars cammed so why an issue with something so easy to change as a header ? (Unless it is a condition of lease)
Re: Catback Exhaust v AFM
I am about to enter a lease with Paywise
The info I have is mods are welcome as long as no mods are illegal.
I originally had a some serious mods quoted and approved inclusive of the lease but had to drop them financially

Keen to see what you can get
I am still on the fence about changing, but the missus said its "pussy quiet" and her car (Lexus) sounds better so I'm getting keener by the minute

:lmao: :lmao: Most females like quiet cars, sounds like yours is a keeper! :D
Re: Catback Exhaust v AFM
If you don't plan on lowering the car, then i can confirm my sureflo with remote varex mufflers has minimal drone when set to loud. The only time i change it to quiet is if i am doing a long drive like canberra to sydney. Around canberra it stays on loud all the time and i don't notice the drone.
Using the varex mufflers is a bit louder than the other sureflo system. My caprice is lowered with SSL (so ultra low for the LWB), and it's a right pain with how low the exhaust hangs. After 12 months, i'm keen to put the stock suspension back in, or stock exhaust.

Yeah, definitely a keeper, plus it would probably cost to much to replace!
But I am not allowed to go "Bogan" loud.
Noticed KPM have catbacks apparently drone free but around $2,200.00 supply only make me think about Sureflow now.

X-Force around $750 mild steel, $1,200 stainless both 2.5"
Sureflo $1,600 3" stainless
KPM as per your quote above is that 2.5" or 3" stainless
Quite a variety of prices there

Chev get a good wrap here on LS1. I'll be heading down there sometime soon to see what he can do for me exhaust and otr wise. Seems he has a lot of happy customers!

2.5" is $2,190.00 off their website
D Block has the 2.5" X-Force on his VF SS, maybe that's the way to go.
Does anyone have one on an auto that can comment?
Re: Catback Exhaust v AFM
I'm planning to go down on Saturday the 6th and have a chat to Gary about a KPM 2.5" catback with VMC OTR and tune, feel free to come down at the same time and he can hit him up together, lol ... PM me if ya keen.

Re: Catback Exhaust v AFM
Ok time to get serious!
Met a mate this arvo who is a Ford nut with an XR8 who gave me a hard time when I got a VESS and hadn't seen the new VF Redline
Mate - Oh haven't seen the white beast yet, looks good
Me - Yeah very happy with it, check out the party trick (did remote start)
Mate - Sh!t that's cool. So you got a 6?
Me - (Puzzled look) Yeah 6 litre
Mate - Oh it's a V8?
Me - Yeah, it's a bit quiet (gets in a gives it a rev)
Mate - You're right it is quiet
Me - Fancy a beer? Reckon it might rain (don't talk about cars)
Me - What are you doing grand final day?
Fucn pissed off. Even my dad "you can hardly hear it"
I don't expect it to sound like a boat with a V8, but it sounds a bit tame for what GM are marketing it as

I might get down there on the 6th but hard for me to commit at this stage. I might shoot down there if I get an early day at work or something.

It is quieter on the inside compared to a VE due to the extra sound deadening in the car, between noise and emission regs it's never going to be anything special. Did you not test drive the car?

I was never expecting much compared to HSV but would think they could have a bit sportier exhaust on the Redline. Never got a chance to test drive but I am happy with the car, just needs a bit more bark.
Re: Catback Exhaust v AFM
Also keen to explore cat-back only options - mainly to get a bit more note but not sacrifice refinement that headers and cats will bring...
I want something that is a bit louder but sounds deep and tough. Hoping that is realistic???
