Not really because what would be the point then of locking your car when your inside to prevent car jacking since the car jacker could just touch the door sensor and get in if that was the case.
Re: A trap for young players ;/
i think when you are inside the car you can make decisons .. like press the door lock button - that im sure overrides the remote - well i hope it would override the remote anyway !

That's why I asked if it was running
Re: A trap for young players ;/
Maybe some at the time had one of those scanners scanning for the codes the remote sends to unlock the car and it interfered with your key.
Re: A trap for young players ;/
Is why I never buy the first of the latest & greatest Commy's! Another reason I luv this place as some other spinner try's em out first!
I remember back to the first VE's & the problems they had ffs! Is why I didn't buy one one until S2 was about to be released.
Re: A trap for young players ;/
Sorry Steve but I did laugh when I read the first post :)
Has to be some way to prevent this happening...
There are many instances I can think of when the key might be left inside and a door gets closed..

I think you will find that you can change this in the menu in Mylink. Go into config. There are some settings which you can play with regarding passive locking and unlocking of vehicle. If I remember correctly, it is in there somewhere. Remember to change it with both keys or you will have the same problem with the key you don't change......

Same with me. The keys are up on the shelf, in my pocket, or the car is running.
Re: A trap for young players ;/
Was the accessories on? The car auto locks on the calais v when accessories are on and it isn't able to be opened from the outside due to car jacking, you've got to unlock it to let a passenger in.
Their may be an option in the settings, there a few passive unlocks selections.
But in saying this I've washed the car at home with the keys inside for over 30mins and it never locks.

I am dead opposite, lol.. I always leave keys in cars, even shopping the other day I jumped back in car and what do ya know, keys still in ignition. Must stop doing this.... Gunna bite me in the arse one day..
Re: A trap for young players ;/
Definitely may bite! I am sure I heard that if your keys are in the ignition and someone steals the car, as I saw on a Current Affair or something ages ago happened to someone at a petrol station when they went in to pay, then insurance won't pay up. Would be a very hard lesson to learn if true!

I would think that if the driver of a vehicle hasn't attempted to secure the vehicle in their absence then they would have been negligent, and thus insurance doesn't cover them.
