I gather VF is much trickier so for them I'd definitely use Jez as he's a guru Mick, but these kits have been around for VE for years now and well and truly proven.

it's not trickier per se... both can have paddles added quite simply, however JSB can offer factory integration on the VF which allows you to go up/down gears in normal drive mode, which it will hold for 7 seconds and then go back to doing it's own thing.
the generic kits simply actuate the gears in sports mode as per the shifter.

My paddle shifters - love 'em!! :woohoo: E1 Senator with E3 dash and iQ system upgrade by Jez :goodjob:
nice! EDI as well?
i'm going to have the E3 IQ setup put into my E1 senator as well. mainly for the integrated bluetooth/iphone connectivity; my series 2 omega has it, it's a pain jumping into the senator and not being able to flick through my music, or getting siri to set me a reminder as i so often do whilst driving. :D
Yep, full E3 with reverse camera, EDI, TPMS etc, all done by the maestro Jez. :goodjob:
Don't know if it's possible to use Siri (which I've only ever seen on tv) or an equivalent in E3 iQ?
certainly is! my Series 2 Omega wagon does it, double press the phone button on the steering wheel.
i commonly use it to give me directions, set reminders, read messages/emails, etc. very handy.
Thanks everyone. I'm a chauffeur, and this has NOTHING to do with performance - I like the extra control afforded by shifting myself, but don't like the distracting hand movements when I have passengers. It also feels like it just *might* be a bit easier on the transmission shifting OFF the throttle in a more predictive manner (like we do with a true manual), but this is pure surmisal on my part. I'm in Sydney, so JSB aren't applicable, but I may give them a call anyway. I'm waiting to see whether the dealer can do something for me too. I haven't got the vehicle yet - it will be delivered in the new year. I currently have a '12 V6 Caprice.
Btw, if I could have the full integration, where I can paddle shift in D, with the auto fallback to A, that would be fantastic!
Jez now has a lot of stuff he can do remotely (not sure how much, if any, on VF yet but heaps on VE) so he may be able to supply any required hardware and supply a USB type dongle to do the software side.

Thanks - I have in fact just had a chat with JSB - it can't be done remotely, unfortunately - if I was down there it may have been possible. The dealer said they can't do it either, but I'm going to push them a bit harder before I give up with them. Apparently I still have the option of installing the simple kit that does require the shifter to be moved over to the Sports/Tiptonic position - I'll probably take the risk with that if I can't get the full version. There are kits for this on Ebay and the seller swears that it will work on the Caprice.
No dealer will be able to do this for you, they don't have the knowledge! forget about them!!
