Well, when i had it on Sonnys duno, peak Torque at the wheels was only 519nm. The difference is, and quoting HSV HereQuote:

Hope that gives you an idea. This is what makes it soo different from an LS1, just the fact that all the torque is there from the word go and you dont need to rev it out to get to that torque!!! :booty:
Tks Ryzz, just dug out my dyno sheet from SamsQuote:

Would be interesting to compare the 2 driving wise :)
Average & Max dont really mean anything. You need to look at the graph and see how much torque is available and when it comes in.Quote:

Hi Guys,
I am also looking at installing a 3.9 diff on my Monaro M6. It would be great if I could get a ride in a car with that setup (understand that probably there are not 2 cars set up with the same mods throughout so it would not necessarily be an exact comparison, but would give a reasonable idea). I am in the Sutherland Shire, and would appreciate hearing from someone not too far away who would oblige.
Thanks
Easy answer ... PUT IT IN 5th GEAR THEN!Quote:

Of you want it to run at higher revs, just drop it back a cog ... isn't that why you have a manual box? I don't see the problem.
Stop being so bloody logical Kris..:lol:Quote:

What did you really expect ?
Did you bother to test drive either set ?
I have driven both 3.9 & 4.11 in a M6 - 3.9 wins every day unless you are at the track.
Just my 2c
Put some smaller diameter rear wheels on it and get the same results as changing gears :D
:booty:
couldn't of said it better myself. :bash:Quote:

Now, in hindsight, should have kept the 4.11s and enjoyed the "lighter" car it gave me, it was a true 5 speed with overdrive. 4.11 with M6 is a very good choice for everyday if you can handle first being useless under power. But fun....

I have 4.11's in an M6 383ci with a 232 cam. It still won't pull hard in 6th @ 120km/h (2000rpm). I am cool with that. 6th gear is there just for freeway on cruise control.
Don't kick yourself too hard. On your criteria, you would not have been happy with the 4.11's either.
PS: 550nm+ @ 2500rpm - 6000rpm engine dyno

No i didnt drive either beforehand as i do not know anybody with even a similar setup as mine. Had speedo calibrated same day (atleast i was told it was done).Anyway to everyone who replied with a "logical solution" my original post said "MY OPINION" and thats how it stands. I was just trying to give some insight into this option for anyone else thinking of making the same mistake. ;)
