Great to hear Smitty thanks for that!
Single biggest improvement in the LS1 was the sealing side of things, have gotten spoilt and forgotten just how bad the older engines are..

It's probably a bit late now for this one IJ but I find that a dab of black silicon in the corners just makes doubly sure, otherwise just install dry and clean. I replaced two of them in the car (HQ) many years ago until I realised that I'd screwed up the timing cover gasket and that was causing the leak:cussing:.

Quick trip down to Melbourne to collect the Tailshaft and some coolant and bits and pieces, plugs Dizzy cap Rotor button and so on!
That engine looks too good, need to respray it with 'oil stain tinter' for a more authentic look! :D

That's right if memory serves the Utes, panel vans & tonners had the heavier units fitted.

Went down and finished off the Engine this morning, figured out what's left to do then sorted through some of the Trans parts so it's ready to go.

Swapped the LSD Disc brake rear end in as the 1/2 a car Surplus is being collected tomorrow so figured while I was sorting alll the parts the Drum rear end may as well go back!

The disc brake swap on these pretty straight forward bolt in replacement mate?
Makes sense, never ventured that far in my old HZ. Know well they're under braked in a manual, be far worse in an auto.
