The Calais makes the ve and my car look very old. I also own a ve calais for my wife, and I can safely say, her next will be a 6 ltr VF CalaisV. Good Job Holden. I'm in love with this car and I haven't even test drove it yet.
Mate, I couldn't agree with you more. I have owned many Holdens and HSV's (And an FG Ford Turbo) but was getting disheartened with the whole
Australian car market. We just weren't getting what we wanted. I have bought European cars recently and have been very happy but running costs etc can be quite
costly. The VE was never the car that I was expecting, the series 1 looked wrong, HSV's were ugly (Except for the SENATOR) and the E2/E3's were over
the top. I think this time Holden have listened, for the limited budget, resources and market they have to work with, they have done a fantastic job (Providing the finished product quality is good).
This is the best looking car to come out of Holden in a long time, these people that love their VE series 1 more, need to have a reality check. If they like them that much
there will be an abundance of them on the market soon...REAL CHEAP. They will be able to buy series 2 and put Series 1 panels on them too if they like.
It's like all the people that whinge about Ford and haven't bought a new car since an XP.
I know they say "never say never" but I didn't think I would ever buy another new Holden again but this has changed my mind.
Good work Holden. I hope you do really well with it. I'm proud that Australia can produce a car like this.
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
For a long time I've said that the VE still looks good. Whilst it's become an extremely common look, I think it has ages well. Seeing the VF now though really hits home that perhaps I was giving it more credit than it deserved. VE vs VF, the VE looks so outdated!
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
I really like it. I liked the way the calais sat on display today hopefully the ride height will be the same once released.
I remeber the ve ssv when released sat the same and then they all looked like the ride height was to high. Will be interesting to see tje rest of the range as not everyone can afford the calais v. Good job holden. Id be proud to have one in my driveway. So many of my family memebrs have decided to go bmw and mercs and frankly they're not all their cracked up to be with electrical issues and so expensive to fix. My VE no issues and reasonable service and repair costs and just keeps going. Although I will admit the interior lacks a little on the ve when compared to the euros. I hope the vf interior is a few steps up on the ve.

I know the reactions have been different between a lot of people, but I keep looking at the photos and like the design more and more.
From what the live streaming on the Holden website said, we will have to wait until Daytona next week for the 'sports' model.
I can see myself driving a VF SSV already.

Ignore my dislike, stupid touchscreen. I agree, I thought it looked ok till I saw the real VF. The artists impressions didn't do it any justice. Especially the rear, although the rear side view does look a bit Bangle BMW like.
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
looks good but the rear looks a little "girly"

Overall I like it, but is there a reason for the circa 1979 door locks ?, particularly when the lock / unlock button is up near the door handle.
I hope they don't end up being in the natural place to rest your arm.

Hate to be a Holden salesman out trying to flog off VE's for the next couple of months......Regardless of price !

Mid year was mentioned in the release video, I have read May a couple of times today.
