I'm assuming you don't have comp insurance, as obviously it would be a waste of money given you will never be in an accident, even one that was not of you own doing, because you always drive within the car's limits, so does everyone around you, and you drive in perfect controlled environments where nothing out of your control could ever go wrong.
I see you said you also drive 'up north' - I always wondered where Utopia was from here.
Great post. Speedy is living in a fantasy land with his recent comments.
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
Anyone put in a order yet? Im hoping visit holden at some point to see what pricing / options. Im 99% set on SSV Redline in white with a spolier. But i'd like to see the Calais in flesh just to make sure. They seem fairly matched for specs. I think the SSV misses out on Heated seats and possibly rain sensing wipers? but gains larger rear tyres, breaks and some other go fast bits and launch control which i assume is manual only.
I've only ever driven auto due to my size and car availability but there may be a chance ill go manual.
My budget is around 50-55k So i guess ill see what happens!.

Wow, really? I like driving my '71 Superbug around but I definitely feel vulnerable when I do (which is why I don't take it out in peak hour, at night, or in the wet).

Full comp on all cars, keep left down under, keep right up north, no such thing as a perfect driver, myself included, honestly never felt threatened driving to conditions, driving has an element of risk, but the risk is minimal if precautions taken
With regards to cars, cars that do not belong to me ( customers, friends, LS owners ) I treat as my own, it wouldnt be a good impression professionally to know someone is thrashing your car and driving it like a loon. Doesnt matter if the car is a $100 Kingswood or a $1 mill Enzo, RESPECT for the car and the owner is guaranteed from my perspective.
From VB-VE (and VF if I can bother going to a test drive, my Chevy rep will likely be pulling themselves over how great the SS is, why buyers want to pay 100K for a Holden when you can pay 70K and have a carbon fibre ZR1 in your driveway beats me, though if you want to pay 6 figures for a car that cant perform as well as a car that costs 30K less with a similar powertrain, go for it imho ), pre EPA, 80s, 90s, Euro, Italian, Japanese, American, for me, I get more enjoyment learning how they work and are assembled than I get from straight line speed and acceleration, never felt threatened in any car to be honest driving at day, night, wind, rain or snow, and its reflected in my insurance premiums.

Are you really that challenged that it beats you? I'll try and explain really simply...there is no $70K ZR1 available, we have our $100K GTS. No wonder this convo has been so difficult :duh:

Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
Since when can you pick up a ZR1 in this country for 70k.
Given thay the zr1 is in a corvette with an ls9 and the ZL1 uses the lsa neither of ehich can be had for 70k

These prices seem expensive. SS Auto RRP is $44,190 plus on roads. So they are quoting $5,000 for on road costs plus you should be able to negotiate under the RRP even with the price drop.

'tis better to be silent and have people think your stupid, rather than opening your mouth and confirming it.

Sweet sign me up! Who do I pay the deposit to for a ZR1 including on-roads for $70K. Does it come with a full tank of fuel?
