I have set the fronts back to all the way soft..rides well but will be much better when I get to the backs and soften them up, then I will know if getting them was fully worth it..Will try to do it tonight...Thanks for all the responses..Every one has been a great help..

looks like they don't lower it as far as it will go
on mine there is no thread showing at the bottom of the tube i have 100 mil ground clearance :)that was until i put the 3" system on :bawl if you wont to drill the holes in the liner it is very easy as it is only thin plastic i did mine after fulcrum fu*&^^k it up
i run mine on 10 from hardest on the back and 12 from hardest on the front
great ride round town:) but will bottom out on the hiway on the front (even on hardest setting ):bawl:so will be geting stiffer springs fitted on the front before i go down to bris again nearly lost my false teeth last time :)there is a few post on here about drilling the holes in the liner with measurements

Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
Just spent the day, giving the ute a good drive.. Totally unimpressed with my new setup..So bad I have a sore back.. I have the fronts set to full soft and the backs, well I have no idea but I'd say they are set to full hard.. Yesterday I pulled the tray liner out to adjust them but found there was no hole to access them as I was told there was by Fulcrum.. So Cant get to them..They gave me a photocopy of the instalation page and it said that you need to drill the hole before the struts are put in.. So looks like I have to go back again:vpo:.. I cant beleive how rough they are.. I thought my last car was rough but this is insane..Turned a car I didnt want to get out of into something that I dont want to go near. If it doesnt improve when the rears are on soft Im going to put the stock suspention back in.

WOW
i can run my rears on hard or soft and it doesn't make all that much diff
THE FRONTS on hard is horrible though
are you turning them the wright way ?
all the way clock ways and then back 16 clicks is softest setting don't go aney more as you can damage the valving
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
yeah I sure am...They are 16 clicks off hard on the front... The whole reason why I got them was beacause I wanted a soft ride...
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
here is my VE SS sedan with the king springs and different bump stops front and rear ...the ride is fantastic now and it has 22" wheels...you should have taken my advice mate...
now you have to start again....i also have the tein coilover shocks in my 350Z with king springs fitted...both these cars handle and ride beautifully..

Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
Yeah looks like Ive wasted a whole lot of money..I had a ride in a VE ute and a sedan that was lowered with Pedders and shocks..Rode really well.. But I thought the Teins would be better after reading so many times and being told by Fulcrum that it would ride close to stock... Well you just never know..This whole ordeal has put me off lowering the ute again...Not going to muck around with it any more I think..I plan to do a lot of long distance driving with it.. Cant imaging driving like that to Melbourne or Cairns..Just drove back from Redcliffe and I couldnt wait to get out of it!! I am really dissapointed that they charge so much for such a poor product..
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
i really feel for you as i was 50-50 on this product as well but i carnt be any more happy with mine. All i can say is on hard setting it will ride really hard soften the backs up then make a call im sure you will see the differents
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
I've got Tein flex in my WRX and can honestly say that on full soft the ride is better than the stock setup was, they usually sit on about 6 clicks front and 5 clicks back for most driving (from soft) and the ride is fine. These are also still on Japanese valving so alot harsher than anything Fulcrum would put out here in Australia (and better than the Super Street model you get here). I find it a little concerning that you find them so harsh. I'd make sure that they are indeed set up correctly and set to full soft (or close to) and give them another go. Which Fulcrum store are you going to? The one in Stafford is generally pretty good.
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
YES i would go to another fulcrum store and talk to them and see if you can get a ride in another ute with them in
some thing must be wrong
mine rides a lot softer and smoother then stock HSV
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
Had the ute back to Fulcrum yesterday..Had them cut the holes in the tray so I can adjust the shocks..Have them now full soft front and rear..Also had the front height raised 5mm to try and stop the banging.. Havent had it out for a good drive yet but.. In the wash up so far..I have a ute that sits nearly as high as it was stock handles only a bit better than stock but still bottoms out and hits the bump stops all the time...So my $2500 investment has still yet to prove itself.. I want to make them a bit harder, but will have to see how it goes..I'm driving down to Indy tommorow night till Monday:headbang::yahoo: so hopefully I can have a bit of a good go with it.. Have only really driven it home from Fulcrum so far..... Will post how I go when I get back from the coast...
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
loudyeller i gave you the answer to your problem before you even fitted them....it is way back in post #5...you car will still be the same mate...why didn't you get the king springs fitted to the shocks before you had them fitted....change the springs and bump stops ..all will be good...
Re: Lowering VE SSV with teins, who has had it done?
Had a great time down at Indy..The car drove great down and back..Had it on full soft and was pretty good..Still hits the bump stops really hard sometimes...Ive wound it onto 9 clicks from hard.. still pretty rough around town but its as good as its going to get with out forking out more ... Ignition, how much did the king springs and the new bump stops set you back?
