I chopped up my LS3 cover a while back trying to work out if I could make my own covers, and use these as a mould, hardest part is making brackets.
never got round to finishing it, but it was an idea and i wasnt using the cover lol

Why don’t you just do the legal thing and get it engineered and be done with it? The extra cost of having it approved is worth the peace of mind as no amount of engine covers will hide it from those in the know.
As others have said, the best form of stealth is to drive within the road rules, many car enthusiast do this successfully every day.
Oh and HSV’s don’t attract attention from the law, the driver’s do.
Absolutely 100% agree with this!! :yup: Many people here would know of the cars I've driven, particularly my two VEs which have obviously been modified and both have been quite low and loud, particularly the ute with its cam. I have been driving similarly modified cars for most of the 40+ years I've had my licence in which time I've probably done around 1 million km (used to do 30,000km per year, now around half that). The last time I was pulled over (touch wood!) was 1978! Similarly my daughter who takes after me :D in driving a black VY2 SS on its guts with VY GTS rims, SSSLs all round and loud exhaust. As a matter of interest I double checked with her the other day and in the 4+ years she has had it (80,000+km) she has never been pulled over.Quote:

While driving sensibly certainly helps, in NSW at least, the notion that you wont get pulled over in a modified car as long as you drive sensible is wrong especially if you wish to attend events like the drags, supernats, summernats, powercruise etc. I have seen sensibly driven cars targeted many times especially between Sydney and Canberra during summernats, at the supernats years ago they cut the only exit to a spectator car park down to one lane so they could pick out and inspect every vehicle that looked modified. The other states may be different and there is no doubt driving like a d!ck increases the chances but in NSW you can definately get pulled over just because you car is noticeably modified, I was pulled over once in a WB ute I owned, just sitting on the speed limit in a 80 zone with the rest of the traffic, he had no other reason to pull me over other than the car was obviously modded and he was looking to hand me a canary.
