I just used the VZ split covers on my Harrop blower & had the bonnet popped a few time by the HWP with no problems.
Do the split engine covers fit without modification?

Good points, but I'm not sure what you mean by paperwork. I don't have engineering certification if that's what you mean, but I doubt many of "us" (modification junkies) do. If it's easy enough to get engineering approval, I'd be interested, but that's another thread I suppose.
From my limited understanding, the HTV1900 S/C is ADR approved, but that doesn't mean much in regards to legality issues (emissions, engineering, etc).

No issues.
Relax, and enjoy the blower :)
Cheers. I've been enjoying it for 18 months now, but I still get a tad nervous when the boys in blue follow me. I think HSV's attract unwanted attention from various sources, unfortunately. On another note, I still drool at the thought of a T/C LSx.

I'm not sure what you mean by those abbreviations. Feel free to post here or PM me details as I'm interested in seeing more info. Cheers, Justin

My experience is this... don't attract attention by driving like a douche, don't run a toothed belt setup and you won't have any problems. You don't need to hide it in the engine bay if you don't get pulled over to begin with!
I've been pulled over a few times, and the only things I can draw it down to is the type of car I'm driving and the times I mostly drive (I work nightshift). Older HSV's (possibly new ones too) are cop magnets, like it or not.

Moral: If you drive like a dickhead, your OTR Intake will be enough to get you in the crap. If you drive with a bit of common sense the sky is the limit for what's under the bonnet.
*Drools*. Point taken.

:) Exactly. I'm the former. I like modding and driving/enjoying my car(s), but aren't really into the shows, cruises, "hooning", or attention in general. Each to their own.

Define old...
I had a VP Senator and Senator 5000i for a long time and now the VY GTS for over 6 years. Never once been pulled up in the GTS, been thru plenty of breatho's and get nothing but compliments from the boys and girls in blue.
Only once had a defect and that was definitely the right decision on their behalf.

just because ppl wonna keep there mods a litle more discreat, doesnt make them any less of an enthusiast than ppl that wonna be in the spot light.
enthusiasts come in all different shapes and syles, if u think otherwise, then i guess your not a real enthusiasts, just a poser.
anyway, back on subject
I chopped up my LS3 cover a while back trying to work out if I could make my own covers, and use these as a mould, hardest part is making brackets.
never got round to finishing it, but it was an idea and i wasnt using the cover lol

You’ve been posting since 2011 about adding a blower to your cars without attracting the attention of the Police.
Back then you wrote, “even if I get defected, it would be easy to remove.” What has changed since then?
Why don’t you just do the legal thing and get it engineered and be done with it? The extra cost of having it approved is worth the peace of mind as no amount of engine covers will hide it from those in the know.
As others have said, the best form of stealth is to drive within the road rules, many car enthusiast do this successfully every day.
Oh and HSV’s don’t attract attention from the law, the driver’s do.

Absolutely 100% agree with this!! :yup: Many people here would know of the cars I've driven, particularly my two VEs which have obviously been modified and both have been quite low and loud, particularly the ute with its cam. I have been driving similarly modified cars for most of the 40+ years I've had my licence in which time I've probably done around 1 million km (used to do 30,000km per year, now around half that). The last time I was pulled over (touch wood!) was 1978! Similarly my daughter who takes after me :D in driving a black VY2 SS on its guts with VY GTS rims, SSSLs all round and loud exhaust. As a matter of interest I double checked with her the other day and in the 4+ years she has had it (80,000+km) she has never been pulled over.
I am convinced it doesn't matter what car you drive, it's how you drive which attracts attention!! If you go to known haunts for hoons you're obviously begging to be "picked on" but that's your bloody fault for being a dickhead. :)

What a load of rubbish.
I bought my Sting Red VTII GTS new in 2000 and I've only been pulled over once since then (for speeding). That's right I've had it nearly 13 years and have NEVER been pulled over for no reason.....
If HSV's attracted unwanted attention I'm pretty sure my experience would be impossible..... The reality is no HSV is going to get pulled over unless you're doing something stupid.
Re: Going stealth with a top mount supercharger. Is it possible?
While driving sensibly certainly helps, in NSW at least, the notion that you wont get pulled over in a modified car as long as you drive sensible is wrong especially if you wish to attend events like the drags, supernats, summernats, powercruise etc. I have seen sensibly driven cars targeted many times especially between Sydney and Canberra during summernats, at the supernats years ago they cut the only exit to a spectator car park down to one lane so they could pick out and inspect every vehicle that looked modified. The other states may be different and there is no doubt driving like a d!ck increases the chances but in NSW you can definately get pulled over just because you car is noticeably modified, I was pulled over once in a WB ute I owned, just sitting on the speed limit in a 80 zone with the rest of the traffic, he had no other reason to pull me over other than the car was obviously modded and he was looking to hand me a canary.
