Wife's VZ had ignition barrel issues and I got around the steering lock and the need for a key. Sure VE is I assume more advanced in that area as well but the point being where there is a will there is a way.

being a mate of Anthony's and obviously just gone through same situation I feel for him. Mine was stolen by break and enter in to house and car being driven away. Anthonys was obviosuly stolen (well started) without keys.
The most common thing we hear is VE's cant be stolen unless you have the keys. Well these photos show what else the wonderful thieves of the world are trying. I know the story of what these photos mean and out of respect of anthony asking not to say too much, all I'll say is that they at least got access to ignition from a locked car

Yes starting a car without your keys is easily done... would take about 2 mins tops to do it as well... (if they knew exactly what they were doing) which I think a lot of them are that get these cars .....also just a quick one for all the other people on here a word of warning/suggestion.... I don't think its a bright idea to be advertising what sort of devices you have fitted to your car.... a lot of thieves would more than likely troll internet forums etc... looking for their next victim and if you have kindly given them all the correct info it makes there job 10 times easier :) just my opinion on it
If somebody manages to steal my car despite the extra protection I have on it then that's what insurance is for. I love the new VF Redlines! :D

insurance companies read forums too, can't see how you are helping here
I have a vague idea what's going on with those pics, but I still don't understand how it can be started and ran without the transponder fob in the car? Wouldn't the BCM just shut it down. Anyways, I suppose answers that don't want to be broadcast (even though those pics have come off facebook), which is a little frustrating because after a spate of VE thefts over the last 6 months or so even my local coppers won't tell me how they're being stolen (which leaves me thinking it's pretty easy).
How is knowing how they are stealing them without the key FOB going to help??? it won't .... but adding extra security to your car and (and this is a big and) NOT TELLING ANYONE THAT YOU HAVE ADDED EXTRA SECURITY and for that matter what type/way will go along way in helping to keep your car yours
as if the police will tell you how they are stealing me... for all they know you may then go out and steal a car with the info they have told you
It is always easier when you know how which is why doubledip's suggestion is not a bad idea at all. Brother had kill switch fitted (by me) in his old car a VK Berlina and it did the job. Yep not a flash car but what he could afford (it was in great condition) and could not afford to go missing so the switch saved the day.
However, the other way of looking at it from the point of view of anyone reading these forums is that knowing there is all that extra security they'll decide it's far easier to steal someone else's car. I'd prefer to have them do that in the first place than end up in my house looking for my keys!
So true! Hence for me I'd prefer to frighten them off from even trying in the first place.
Pretty obvious using their hacking knife to open rear qtr to disconnect the B***** then they have enough access to open the B*** then can C**** through into the C**
open whatever & hook up their own unlocked ***.
But I never done it so wouldn't know!
Edit: I retract the hacking Knife it appears they used their teeth!
