Bullshit. I have had X-Force, Hurricane, Redback, Sureflo and now the ET system, no comparison. Sometimes it seems that you do get what you pay for ;)
Glad you are happy with your new system though. How much and is it full stainless? Have had Pacey headers a couple of times and they were good quality.

Being the tight a@@e im am, and a wife you is charge of finance, picked up a full pacemaker system for $1800 near new. Im not bagging really any other system, each has there own merits, and affordability and difference preference in sound loud, quiet, mellow, racey .The quality is extremely good on the pacemaker system, cant fault it really.

Good to hear, nothing worse than laying out good coin and then not being happy with the product.
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
The DPE big boy system is one of the best for power but its bloody loud when you have heaps of power going through it. At least they position the cats properly well away from the collector merge some have the cats right next to the merge which is crap and kills the cats to when supercharged.

They are definitely the systems to get and are I believe what Hos was referring to when he said they are no longer making them for KPM, therefore I would definitely go direct to Exhaust Technology for their Marko Gold system! :goodjob:
I remember back around 2012 I had a chat with someone up at KPM and their mufflers were Japanese something like HKS or JUN but I googled the muffler and I got hundreds of results from Supra forums lol. It probably is made in China but it appeared to be quality stuff. I run a Difilippo Big boy, nothing better imo.

The mufflers on my ute's KPM 3" system were JUNBL and as you say are very highly regarded by the ricer crowd and I reckon they were great. Many people regarded my ute as the best sounding VE they'd heard and there's no way I'd go for anything else but KPM or Di Filippo because with exhausts you really do get what you pay for. Some of you may remember that I previously discounted DF after hearing it on a cammed SSV sedan a friend of mine had. It sounded sort of off under hard acceleration and also droned and caught badly on speed humps. He changed it for a KPM 3" and was much happier - no drone and far less scraping.
However, another mate now has a blown VF SSV with full DF 3" system and it sounds bloody tough - making me rethink my position! :)
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
Ive got the DF big boy and happy with it for sure because cant really beat the design of it. Its just im not really sure on the sound at the moment some people love but when ive played it back after a gopro vid im not sure its a bit old school sound. It sounds awesome if I rev it and just dump it it sounds like its getting towards pro stock drag sound just that instant of noise. But when it drives off its the old school sound. I haven't really don't it properly though as its so fast now its just not legal and attracts people from several suburbs away lol.
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
I've got DF Big Boy, I love the sound, deep rumble which sounds great inside the car. No idea what it sounds like on the outside but my family say they here me coming down the street and it's only ticking over at 50 kph.
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
On a cruise the other day I sat at one set of lights with a car between mine and the guy with the blown VF SSV with the DF Big Boy system and whilst I think it sounds great (very deep and tough) I doubt I'd want to put it on my car because it was too loud!! I thought the KPM 3" system on my cammed ute was loud as it would rattle windows at idle but the DF Big Boy I could hear at idle from 2 cars back over my 3" KPM (only SLC so not as loud as the ute) plus radio!! If I'd ever attracted police attention in the ute I would have just worn it, but with the Senator the consequences of a close inspection would not be good! :nutkick:
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
Ok ive had the pacemaker on for over 2 week now! AND its coming off! Note has changed abit and idle isn't that good as id like..WOT feels quite soft, not to worry already sold the pacemaker and a few other things so can fund new catback..
Order
KPM is way to expensive $2800 + for one fitted as the 3'' outlet has to be modified for E2 Bumper. I cant justify that cost atm
DPE is $2300 delivered with 3.5'' tips
or a friend who owns a workshop, can supply a Manta M/S Muff/HD to Muff-4'' Tips $1380 s/s $1900
M/S XF and tips $1000 delivered or s/s $1340

So what are you buying ?
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
Going down a path trodden by many - buy a number of systems and sell at loss before ending up with a decent system eg DF or KPM. Given the DF also has 3.5" tips same as the KPM I suspect a similar situation would occur to that with modifications required, though I'm sure I've seen a KPM system on E2/E3 just with normal tips??? If so the HSV E2/E3 tips sell for a decent amount second hand on eBay to recoup some money.
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
Wonky the pacemaker system I got 2nd hand wa a spur of moment buy, and it was a prick right from the start, had to have the outlets straightened, buy tips, and then finally the RH Side muffler didn't align properly, . I have actually recouped enough money back off selling another catback that was on and have a buyer once pacemaker is off, so enough for a catback.
Im not bothered with running 3,5'' tips as they don't really look to bad, poking staggered out the back, however only manta and xforce sell a catback with 4'' tip for the e2, the XF im not so keen on, as the mufflers are not packed enough and cant waste more coin. manta or dpe...although id love a kpm its alittle out of my price range
Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
I have a custom system for my wagon made and fitted by Extracted Performance in Dandenong, Andy really knows his stuff. The system is a twin 3inch hi flow cats and HSV headers as my engine hasn't been opened up, has a nice deep note, pretty much silent apart from a slight rumble at 115km/h and dead silent at 100km/h, but when up it has a great bark and down crackles when down shifting. The system is really tidy and tucked up. From memory cost around the $2000 mark. Most wagon systems people go bimodel due to drone issues but this system there is no need.

Re: 3'' DPE vs KPM 3'' System
Andy does great work but not much use to rodders in Perth.
