Going the Auto with this one mate, not doing track work. It's going to be my daily driver, the manual maloo used to shit me in heavy traffic with the twin plate clutch and lump from the cam, the more horsepower I gave it the worse the street manners became. But it was incredible around a track and that's what I wanted from it lol.
I'm also getting an eboost controller so can have different modes of boost for different driving conditions.
Cheers Greg
Going well thanks!!
Sounds like it's going to be a beast! :goodjob: Part of the reason for asking is I know someone who had a stealth TT WM Grange putting out 400+rwkw (LS2, stock cam) and even though his auto was extensively/expensively strengthened down that way it eventually gave up the ghost, so he's gone back to stock as got sick of it. Admittedly he wasn't gentle on it. :D A perfect A6 tune is an absolute necessity as a few guys on here have proved running in the 10s with stock autos.

Those standard rims when you see them on the car in person are a real shocker in my opinion.
Even though I’m currently researching for a set of aftermarket rims I optioned the HF-20 Staggered Forged Alloy Wheels in Black for my Redline Ute.
I was quoted $1500 for a factory fit which mine will be or $2500 if done by the dealer.
I would have liked them with the machined face finish but the staggered sizes only come in black.

Ian't it funny that everyone wanted the black rims on the VF S1 and Holden couldn't keep up with supply. Now they are standard with black no one wants them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't i guess.
Black is so last year :kill:

APS kit, I opted for the larger turbos in case I ever wanted to strengthen the driveline and turn up the wick. They have 1300 hp capacity.
Cheers Greg.
Re: New toy arriving soon....
Yes Wonky, well aware of the auto box limits. Boost will be kept at a reasonable level, still loads of torque on tap.
I also opted for the 20" staggered wheels to fit the 6 pot brembo's .
Can't wait to get it👍

Sorry I posted the wrong link, I had too many turbo webpages open haha
It's ASE turbo kit not APS

Re: New toy arriving soon....
I don't mind the look of the black wheels, and they'll hide the incessant brake dust a lot better than the pentagons used to. One option that I'm glad I didn't get is the blacking out of all the silver trim! Can't believe they charge extra money to make the car look like the bottom range taxi pack!
There was a brand new wagon next to mine at the dealers with that option and it looked so plain ? I don't get it?
My ute

Blacked out option

Each to their own I guess?
Re: New toy arriving soon....
One thing I dont like is the big round badge in the middle blocking the air.

May I ask in regards to the new air inlets on the front bumper, do these direct air directly to the brake disks with some sort of shroud or opening in the internal wheel arch?
Or do they just let air flow inside the bumper bar?

Great to see the first of the Series II....watching this build with interest :goodjob:
I took some photos this afternoon.
The first photo shows the air enters the vents and travels along inside skin on both sides of the front bar.
The 2nd & 3rd photos of the wheel well shows the air exits toward the other edge of the tyre.
jkgmg is right, there isn’t any ducting and no other exit points.
I can’t see how the air would have any cooling effect on the brake for at best it would only travel across the face of the rims but more likely just bounces off the tyre.
Maybe someone who knows something about aerodynamics could add some Physics to the conundrum.

Re: New toy arriving soon....
I think they are there to add downforce. Wouldn't be a hell of a lot but maybe something
Re: New toy arriving soon....
At best the vents may aid airflow around the wheel well and tyre at speed. Other than that I couldn't see much of a reason to have them there.

simple really...
the cheapskates at Holden save money by using less screws and there fore need air pressure to hold the front bumper on
