Manual V8 sedans are becoming rare.

Blown standard LS1 clutch.. You can drive 40km through newcastle without a clutch no worries, including starting in gear. Not much chop for the starter motor, but you do what you got to do sometimes.

Any decent manual driver will know how to do this I reckon Ash, matching revs up and down the gears etc.

I was told autos are for lazy people. I must be one of them.

:lol: I drove for 4 months like that as I cbf putting the new clutch in it. The SS was on stands with no heads on it so I put it in the too hard basket as I could still drive it.

I read a Frank Gardner book to death when I was early teens, still racing karts and only ever driving cars on camping trips or in our backyard. When I started driving on the roads I adopted things I had read and used while racing and that's just how I drive.

It still amazes how little kids need to know to get a license, things like emergency braking and wheel control that actually is a safety measure is non existent.... Anyway ill write an essay if I start on this subject

i really miss my manual car. had to sell it 2 years ago as we went back to a one car house hold then just after the my wife done her back in. with the z grip and stupid low suspension her back would never of gotten better as she does 90% of the km's on the car apart for our holidays when i drive. even to this day she still has trouble even moving customers cars that are manual with only stock clutches so guess its an auto for me till we become a 2 car household again :(

about the highlight of driving our caprice is hitting the twisties and putting it into manual mode so it kinda like a manual but still not a substitute, no rev matching or skill needed, just tap a stick and its done but atleast you can have it in the correct gear before tipping it into a corner.

oh well only 3 more years till i can get one :(

my bmw has an auto..the car is a great handling car, being a 3 series 6cyl coupe, BUT, for me
its damn very hard to drive it effectively when your trying to push it at 10/10ths. maybe its just
me, but i find a manual way easier to control when driving to the cars full potential. Only good
thing about it is driving through stop start peak hour traffic.
