****ers.
Jeez that would piss me off... maybe hence the low price/lack of bids?
Chad is it possible to contact the orig. owner using the Vin no perhaps or obtain a key from GM?
Any update on the progress mate?
I have been held up by waiting for everyone else. Paint and Panel ...who would have known....
There has been some change in direction. I have got so many parts that I'm going to build 2 Wagons.
1 GTS and One SS. The SS will have the SIDI 6 but with the interior and all the gubbins including Heads Up Display and Lane departure warning from an SSV Redline.
The parts I have left over are just not worth it to sell as All VF's are under warranty and you can only sell crash parts. Might get 3K for all of it
I have sold My VZ Senator Wagon build from years ago and have basically converted that into the second wagon. I was informed that I can't keep them all. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I acquired a VE Omega and have modified that to make the second vehicleas I was orig going to do with the GTS. At $3000 for a complete VE Wagon it was a steal even if the diff is hanging out of it. I only needed the Body anyway. I will wreck all the bits I have left and recover the cost of this car as it has all good panels and engine gearbox leather interior. So body for free
I have stripped the VE and modified it to suit the VF changes. This involved creating a plate for the firewall and spot welding it into the hole in the VE to suit the VF Pedal and wiring assembly. Taking the interior a-pillar sections and grafting them to the VE and modifying the holes where the loom goes to the front doors to suit the later VF Connectors. They aso modded the upper part of the metal where the windscree and dash are to suit vf. I farmed all that work to a local fabricator/panel shop and it looks mint. You can't tell its been modified. They welded it all up and painted it and it is back at the shop now ready for assembly. I have already begun dyna matting it yesterday. Full firewall roof and floor.
I spent the first part of my holiday organising the multitude of parts into some semblance of order. Many buckets of parts and even more of nuts and bolts. I will post a lot more pics as this progresses as it has now started in earnest.

The VF Evoke for the GTS has been straitened and measured on a computer aligner with less that .1mm tolerance from all datum holes. The guys at Logan Village Smash have done an awesome job. These guys are responsible for a lot f the V8 Supercar and racecar repairs were the only guys for the job. The repaired out v8 supercar ride car when it got bent at QR. Was flawless afterwards. They had a 458 Ferrari GT Car in there that has had the entire rear end replaced after the drive backed it into the wall. They are on break till the 18th when yhe vehicle will head to the paint shop for a white base coat and then Lamborghini Giallo Chroma - YELLOW..... who would have guessed.... Only everyone on here who knows my car history.

So Over the holidays I will be assembling the SS Wagon. It has already begun. The SS will be Prussian Steel. I have done the white thing so wanted something different and I can't have two yellow ones.

I got a front bar of a SV6 that was complete for cheap and it will suit perfectly. If in the future If want to add the SS driving lights then I will get the inserts but I doubt that will happen as the harness and bezels and lights are expensive. I would be more likely to do a Clubsport conversion if one became available at the right money. I would want it to be complete though including the HSV dash stuff etc so the likely hood in slim to none really. I also added fog lamp control if I decide to fit those in the future. This is simply a wire from the bcm to the front with power wires to a relay joining it all up. Unsure if the programming is present on the GTS but its there from the ss harness so I have it on both.
For the GTS I have decided to modify the rear wagon bar as the evoke one was damaged and required repair and I really want some custom touches not just a supercharged tourer with mrc and a torque vector diff esp as they now do the Tourer LSA. I have a guy right next to the panel shop who says this mod is trivial. He is going to put the wagon bar on the car and cut the bottom off of it then line up the sedan bar and work out where it looks best. I may have to lower the rear exhaust but that is trivial. He is confident that this can be done even if we have to section the Sedan bar.
I have looked at the GEN-F2 body kit and will investigate adding the front lip and inserts and possibly the side and rear bits but I'm going to wait and see if they do anything with the GTS-R before I change things. I have a m8 with a GTS sedan and he has bought the lower lif but we haven't had a chance to fit it yet.... Nice not to be the test subject for a change. The rear diffuser insert is different but the main part of the bar is the same. You can't get the lips for the side skirts separate so they will be expensive. HSV may wake up and change that. Esp as they will be damaged without needing new side skirts. I don't like the cut outs in the side skirts as they look to boy racer for me. I prefer the cleaner GEN-F look
While I have been waiting for the repairs and paint I have been busy with the wiring. I have now paid for access to TIS to get the wiring diagrams.. thanks to MickS for the tip as I was unsure if they only had US Cars. Turns out you can change the region and it all shows up.
Wiring was a mission. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to go into some detail about the wiring as it may help those wanting to play around with it in future. So stop reading now if it's not your thing.
My research has found there are 2 possibly 3 different main wiring harnesses.. 1 for the evoke/sv6 and 1 for SSV/CalaisV there may be a third SS/Calais variant. This is in the wagons I have looked at. I have no idea about sedans. The GTS wiring does not have the Calais extras. The SSV Wagon has all the Calais wiring in it so if you wanted to add extras like the heated mirrors and seat memory you could. I suspect, but have not confirmed, that the outer harnesses like doors etc do not have the extras but it would be trivial to add the extra wires/change harnesses to facilitate this. The seat memory would require the seat bases and controller from a Calais. If I find a smacked Calais I will have a play. The low end harness has nothing except the wiring for the blind spot led's in the mirrors as this was available/standard on sv6's. This project has changed direction and if I had time over I would have left the SS Harness and added the GTS stuff to the evoke but I had completed the Harness for the GTS before I bought the evoke. :(
I added to the evoke harness the keyless go wiring out of the GTS as it was already in the SSV harness, heads up display wiring, the wiring for Lane departure warning and forward collision avoidance as well as rain sensing wipers, the lights in the sunvisors, the interior under dash lights and puddle lights for the doors. I also added the wiring for powered passenger seat. If I find one and decide to change it down the track I wont need to pull the car apart to add it. I also included the seat warmer wiring but doubt ill ever use that.. I'm still investigating the American seat cooling/blower fan option and will add the wiring for that just in case the moment strikes in the future. I added the extra wiring for the tap up and down shift from the steering wheel which may or may not work with the bcm but it is there for when that may happen but it a way down the list esp for a daily for the mrs and it require a new steering wheel.. Much easier to add it now than when the car is together and it is only extra wires which will remain dormant even if it never gets used
I will use the HSV dash loom for the GTS with added tap shift and rear wiper/washer signals wire and the a Heavily Modified Evoke Dash Loom for the SS.
I have cross checked both with each other and the sedan harnesses to ensure they are identical and have all the extras save for the HSV extras for the SS (the edi, gauges and mrc suspension) and the v6 versus v8 differences so hopefully we have few issues.. Is there a fingers crossed emoji?
The keyless go was a bear and, unlike the other options, it requires changes to the harness as some pins are used by the different systems in different ways. I have left the non keyless wiring connected and will get the car running in test mode with the evoke computers before I change to the SS gear and test the keyless go. This will eliminate chasing my tail with multiple issues during the assembly process and allow me to validate the assembly before mucking with things I should leave alone.
I have to modify the evoke ecm to loose the security/immo so that it will operate without the evoke bcm but that should be a trivial thing to do with hp tuners (Touch Wood). I'm sure I can get it running even If I have to get a VIN from a v6 Calais V Wagon and reprogram all the modules. We will try the easy way first, as not having immo on the ecm is no probs if you don't have an ignition barrel to hot wire and that's what insurance is for anyway.
Unlike earlier conversions I have done there is a fuel controller and it is different between the v6 and v8 varients. There are also changes to where the pins are routed in the main harness between v6 and v8. I have an excel spredsheed documenting all the differences. It would NOT be a trivial thing to convert the vehicle to a V8 if the mood stikes in the future but you never know. You could build an adapter harness but it would require a lot of work and If I ever decide to do that I will just get another ss wagon harness and replace it. Not really a question with the SS build as the point is luxury and options with fuel economy, the learning experience and using up the parts that would go to waste otherwise.
The wagon has an extra keyless go antenna in the rear bumper. The sedan has no boot opening button on the actual boot lid and you have to use the remote button which uses a different system. The wagon needs to see the key to allow the liftgate button to open it. I have spare antennas and plugs so it was just a matter of tracking down what I needed. Two wires from the control unit into the rear. I have used the ss rear bumper which already has this on this car as i'm modifying the rear bumper on the GTS to which I will add this antenna.
I have blindspot warning mirrors and sensors so wanted to integrate that. The blind spot sensors are in the rear bar and just run off power and send their signal to the led's in the mirrors via two wires. As the SV6 has this, most of the wiring is there. I haven't checked the door harnesses as I will be using the SS ones and I'm sick of the sight of wires. These are in the SS bar and I will use the GTS ones in the modded bar for the GTS.
I got the extra options from another smashed GTS that I found at a local wreckers. HUD and associated controls, cluster cover and hud bezel, forward looking camera and wiring etc. These parts are pretty much useless to them as no one is crazy enough to try this stuff so I got it all cheap. I also managed to salvage the HUD screen out of that vehicle also saving $1200. I actually caught this car as it was about to go to scrap and he just sent it to me complete including all wiring and a spare mrc ecu I rekon he forgot about. A Bargain at $500.... My SS steering wheel does not have the buttons for the Lane departure and collision avoidance but $55.00 and Haley at Motorama hooked me up.
The dash is different for the hud and will require some surgery to get it to fit. They were king enough to put a lin on the non hud one to show me where to cut it out. Wiring the heads up display is quite simple. Just connect to power and the slow gmlan. The hud controller on the dash is directly wired into the projector and it appears to be a totally separate system which I doubt will require any programming to get working. The collision avoidance camera is the unknown as there appears to be some interaction with the BCM. This is only to beep the sound indicator and we know that can be done with just sending can signals. There is also a dash indicator which may or may not work. I'm hoping that the heads up display will pick up the slack if the dash indicators don't work. I can live without the activation led on the dash for lane change as long as it beeps.. I will pull the SS Cluster apart to see if it has the LED or not. I'm hoping it does as SSV Redline has this feature. I have investigated reprogramming the BCM and this seems an option however I will either have to develop that myself or wait till it happens with another contact who is else where engaged atm. He has confirmed he can do it but is not developing the vf system and is not prepared to share....:argue: Hopefully he will soon. If I can hack the modules to appear to holden as it is a vin from a v6 Calais then I may be able to get holden to do a full update and get all the correct rpo codes programmed. It sux because in the US Chev will create a custom VIN with the RPO codes you want and you can program it that way.
The GTS runs BOSE stereo and I have added the low level signal wires to the harness as well as re-routing the speaker wires. It also runs the tweeters and front doors combined so I have split them out as I plan to install a stereo later when I recover from all this they then join at the rear of the car. The SS runs wiring direct doors to speakers. I have added/modified the wiring for the SS stereo so that it runs from the head unit to the rear of the vehicle and then back to the doors with split feeds for the tweeters I also added a center channel speaker wire but will probably never use it.. I can then add aftermarket amp and speakers at a later date by simply using the high level outputs from the head unit and piping the sound back to the speakers.
The fuse box in the front of the vehicle is the same with all models but the rear fuse box is different. I intend to mod that. I had not yet done the GTS one so I will use the Evoke and modify it for the GTS and use the SS one in the SS. #clearasmud It is simply disassemble and add the missing pins and a relay as all the tracks are there. Haven't traced the tracks but I reckon the relay is just for boot open.
The evoke had no satnav so I have added the antenna wiring. The VF has the GPS antenna in the base of the Main antenna so that was changed for the correct unit as well. There is a bit of fettling with the plugs but it seems you can eliminate an extension harness that goes to the liftgate which is simply there for ease of assembly at the plant rather that actual function.
The headliner harness required extensive modifications and I basically built a new harness for them. Adding the wiring for the sunshade lights, the forward looing camera and rain sense wipers as neither cars had wagons had that.
Both wagons I have and a mates sv6 sedan use a 16way plug for the front bar harness and the documents and the GTS use a 20pin. Pinouts do not correspond so I documented the 16 way and converted the both harnesses to the 20way plug.
I have no way of knowing whether the GTS BCM will work the rear wiper and washer. There is an extra wire run from the wagon stalk to the BCM but whether the code is in there and just inactive in the sedan is the question of whether programming will be required. I'm hoping that it would not interfere with anything so it is just there. I will just have to try. I'm also unsure whether there will be issues with the rear liftgate. It is also unlikely that the rain sense wipers will work on the ss without modification to the bcm programming but the sensor will be there and should work as standard intermittent if the sensor doesn't work. #crossthatbridgewhenwegettoit
Just as a not removing pins from these holden plugs can be a pita and I have deftroyed a few plugs to see what is oing on in there. Luckily on a harness I don't need. Once you get a technique for each connector it is pretty simple. I bought 3 pin extractor sets of different varities as most of the pins have tiny holes and require twin prongs to dislodge them. All the plugs have secondary retention mechanisms to keep the pins in and working out how some of them worked was fun.. NOT.
Cheers
Chad
Chad you certainly have made huge progress & learnt heaps too I bet. Thanks for sharing I'm sure this will be of interest.
Holy crap, you da man
Talk about dedication. The write up was a great read.
I spent some time yesterday with the SS
I have now changed all the door internals over to SS from the evoke doors. I have also added the Keyless go door handles and associated wiring. Having 4 Cars with which to get a full set of clips helps as broken clips seem to be par for the course with Holdens. So far the Rear wagon liftgate chrome trim and the upper door moulds are the only clips I will have to buy and maybe some side skirt moulding clips.
I also re-assembled the front seat which had the bag go off. I had it repaired at a local trimmers. The front seat headrest mounting tubes are a bear to get out unbroken but I had the ones from the evoke seats so I cut the seat top away to get at the retention mech and problem solved. I love having spares for when you bugger up. I can now get at them from inside and extract reasonably easily.
The door wiring and front regulators needed changing as the Auto up/down functions for the front doors have the current sensors in the actual regulators rather than the bcm like in earlier models. This allows for power and ground to run directly to the regs and have comms cables run from the bcm to the switches and not through those devices. It also makes my life difficult as the windows cannot be moved without the harness in the car. I could probably jerry rig something up but it is not that imperative and the harness should be in soon enough to allow me to move the windows.
I have completed the dynamat install - full firewall, floor and rear. I also did the doors in and out.

The main harness has been laid in the car and I have started to put the engine bay bits in.
I have mounted the Air handling unit for the AC and installed part of the front of the AC Filter/Intake.
I was going to test the harness before finally fitting it but It seems this will really be impossible wihout removing the engine at the end and this seems more hassle than risking a couple of problems which I can add a wire or two at the end if required. I may put some spare wires through the firewall and seal it up so we will be golden if there/more like when there is an issue.
Heading down to the Top Shop now to get started.... Really Enjoying this..
Cheers

Chad reckon the dynamat will be a great investment in the wags, they definitely give more boom inside than the sedans.
Having so many different level looms must be a nightmare & in reality be more expensive in production I would think.
Great progress mate :goodjob:
All I can think of when I read through your posts is "god I'd be stuffed, trying to remember where everything goes" You've either got a very good memory or a great system of documenting what goes where. Great read mate
Would have nothing to do with pulling four of them apart
It's actually a combo of memory and logic. If you have four holes and four bolts in the box the same then that's where they go.
There is also a relatively small number of different fastners. I do have to do thing a couple of time sometime when I forget a step.
Putting them hem back together is much harder than pulling them apart.
I also have a VF GTS to reference what I forget.
An I have pulled 5 of them apart now.
Making Progress
I have put power to the system and just working through the issues. Only issue which is not just something not plugged in yet is the steering column lock.
I am not sure if I put the wrong column in, and it is vin coded, or if there is a wiring glitch. It may also be missing power or ground from a missing fusebox pin. Going to trace it tomorrow as I had a mate help put the engine in today as you really can't do that on your own.

Almost everything is VIN coded now, and because the steering lock is security related I bet it's throwing a VIN mismatch and refusing to do anything. You might be able to get it all to work together if you get a V6 Calais V VIN and program all the modules to work (HUD/ESCL/BCM/ECM/EPS etc).
If it is the vin mismatch ill swap the column...
The column was the wrong one. Wiring was all good. I'm and expert at taking the dash in and out now as it has to come out to change the column.
So everything works including the hud. I dont know if it will bitch when the car is started or show no data but it doesn't say locked like the headunit did....
I can't start it as hptuners cannot remove the security. Waiting on an email from efilive to confirm they can do it. Else I will try the flash a Calais-v vin into everything when my mdi gets here.Worst case it will get a LS3 :) :) :)
I had some dramas with the cluster dying. I had removed the eeprom to get a read and then soldered it back on. Put it in the car and all was fine.. Came back next day and cluster is dead with just random lights and no screen and the fuel gauge moving opposite. I'm like WTF. So just in case I resoldered the eeprom and it is working... Quite a relief as I have never had a bad eeprom connection totally kill a cluster. I plugged the GTS cluster into it to see what errors I got and it shows forward facing camera as it is not plugged in and tpms errors as well as the others the orig cluster showed.
Does a 2013 Calais V Sportwagon have TPMS? Can you get the RPO Codes for a particular VIN? Can you disable TPMS if it is there?. Looks like I can do TPMS in the cluster eeprom but that will be a fun task to find. The mdi will make it all easier as I can change things and then see what changed in the EEPROM if I have the time.
I now have only errors that are known possible problems or things not connected like low brake fluid, service airbag, service esp. I will go over all the connections associated with the errors and make sure there are no issues. I'm guessing the esp ones are brake related as there is no fluid or pressure and I didn't check the abs wiring so there may be an issues there. I'm sure when I clear them all it will give me a fresh set. I also haven't plugged the maf in yet which may be part of the esp code.. I'm pretty happy as the evoke harness, had all the extras added to it and so far I haven't made any wiring errors or missed anything.
Couldn't get the tailgate to work but turned out to be some shite in the connector between the tailgate switch and the tailgate harness.. All sorted and working sweet.
What's left:
ECM TCM fix so the damn thing runs.
Finish the modified stereo wiring
Passenger door dynamat/waterproof and install door card.
Put the front seatbelts in
Check all lower dash parts are done after column change
Install frontBumper and modify the the connector to the standard 20pin from the 16pin
Adjust the bonnet fit.
Install Windscreen wiper and front upper engie bay plastics.
Radiator and Condensor
Master Cylinder to ABS brake lines - Bleed Brakes
Change Diff to New Evoke One and install tailshaft
Install Exhaust
Install Lower Airflow Panels
Install Rear Bar and Tailights when the broken bits arrive from holden on friday
Install Rear Compartment Interior Panels
Finish Harness Wrapping and Dynamat under rear seat.
Panic Handles in Roof Lining
Repair/Re[lace steering rack end and ball joint damaged in accident
Install Windscreen / Camera / Mirror / Rain Sensor.
Fluids
Wheel Alignment
New Wheels
Drive.
There is a good few days there. I have lost a couple to chasing things like the column and the tailgate and I put the front belts on the wrong sides and had to sway them as my ocd wont left me have a little L and R on the wrong side and probably the inertia reels would work incorrectly. Should have it complete minus windscreen and pcm/tcm stuff by Monday.
Then clean up pack the tools away and get ready for the GTS Build.
The list s definitely alot shorter now.
Cheers
Cobalt
Have been enjoying the thread. You'e certainly set yourself a doosie of a task.
I have a 2013 CalaisV and there is no TPMS. The only Holden to date to have this feature from factory was the Craig Lowndes SSV Redline.

Under that closed bonnet everything is buttoned up. Just need to do the windscreen wipers and the top plastics.
Bumper fit was a PITA. I'm a stickler for good panel fit and it took 3 hours and 20 on off's to get the alignment stuff sorted. The whole front end had to be tweaked to get it how I like it. Would be way easier at holden as they have fixtures to make sure its all good from the start. I have to put it all on and work back and forth. When the bumber goes on it shows issues with the bonnet so when you move it then that means move the guards etc. etc. etc......Takes ages, but worth it. I also looked at the drivers side front guard bottom and back of the front door and they are bout half a mill off so I will have to adjust that. I will take the skirt off and move the guard bottom forward and the back of the door needs to come up. Hope I can just tweak the door and move the striker to get what I need without taking the bar, guard off to fix the door. Didn't notice this till it was on the hoist and bang in front of my face. Passengers side is perfect. I'm also not happy with the top of the drivers side guard as it sits proud of the a pillar a little to much. I will have to remove the a-pillar to door trim and will most likely break clips so we will see how much it bugs me. I also have to take it off the hoist to get the doors open enough to see if I can pry the trim off and get in to adjust it without breaking said clips
So my MDI arrived and there are some massive limitations on what you can do. I'm just not used to this.
You can't just flash a new config over the old one as the security in the bcm/pcm just says no dice and reboots. I know why they do this but it still sux. It is annoying how people trying to do the wrong thing stuff it up for the enthusiasts who just want to play and upgrade.
I'm currently investigating other means of changing the vin to trick the system. EFI live should take care of the immo defeat and hopefully the vin change in the ecm. I do have concerns about the mismatch between 2015 znd 2014 when programming keys and the other security codes related to the vin. Hopefully the codes are computed based on the vin and not stored in there. Hopefully I can change the vin and then can program the keys. I'm concerned tht the program will fail with they wrong ecu. I have the ss ecu so I may have to get v8 engine harness and plug it in to program they keys then plug the v6 one back in. Proper Hassle but not insurmountable. One way or another we will get it done.
I may need to put the evoke bcm in and release the ecm basically virginising it and allow it to be put in a new car. Then get a new bcm and keys or some from a Calais-v v6 and re program the ecm to match. This would leave all the other modules with incorrect vins and hence possible issues. I may need the ABS and airbag computer or get a new airbag computer. It seems easy to match the vins on stereos and holden has that in the mdi. There is also keyless and parking modules and a power steering controller. I would really like to find a Calais-v and get all the computers from it.
I'm going to plan some tests with the GTS computers in this car to see if the sedan stuff and the wagon liftgate computer will play nice. We will see. There is no security in the tailgate module so fingers crossed. The GTS will have no problems but may think the boot is open. I may have to trick it with some wiring trickery. There is a bcm code about the trunk in the wagon bcm so I'm hopeful the code for both wagon and sedan is in there. I will also test the rear wiper. I rekon the cluster can be programmed to suit the wagon pretty easily but it will tke some time to map the settings.
I would eventually like to change the vins in all the devices to a Calais-v v6 but that looks like a long term project. Seems SPS programming is a bit hit and miss with modules that are not new. I'm reliably informed that holden doesn't like you changing modules from one vehicle to another. They are also moving more to using flash storage to store the details rather than eeproms which makes access harder to hack the changes. Especially when it is microprocessor embedded flash storage. I may investigate this further but seems the cost may be prohibitive compared to just getting new modules and I cant see much of a market except for airbag modules and that seems liability problematic.
I may be able to get a vci code (effectively a substitute vin) from acdelco in the states that has the options I need but we will see how that goes if the efilive thing fails. VCI is a method of programming that circumvents the existing programming and talks to GM servers for the option packages installed. It circumvents the security to change things or recover from problems when flashing fails prior to replacing the modules. If I give them the Calais-v vin and the part numbers I may be able to trick all this stuff to work. Suspect I will need new keys though. I know this is able to work as the evoke cam with no keys and they programmed it for new keys.
I spent Friday playing and have gotten rid of all the codes except the immo and non running engine ones. There was a fog light code saying the bcm detected that it wasn't connected to the relay. It turns out the Holden wiring diagrams are incorrect and showed the incorrect pin for the fuse box fog light relay. I'm not using fog lights but have put the wiring in incase that changes in the future and if I hadn't then the code would be there permanently. There have been a number of problems and inconsistencies with the wiring diagrams from Holden. Listed below:
1. Fog Light Relay - Underhood fuse box plug x1 is connected from bcm to pin 12 not pin 13
2. Plug between dash and roof lining has pins marked as not used for the Lane departure warning system that are used and shown in the schematics but not connector diagrams. Can't remember exactly which ones. Bth were white wires and I had to map them from the GTS Harness.
3. Pins marked as not used are often used.
4. HSV Wiring for RPO code V5B is sketchy at best.
5. Rear Fuse box wiring is incomplete and I had to trace a lot of it
6. Descriptions are inconsistent. Trunk versus Rear Compartment Lid - Liftgate vs Tailgate
7. And some I can't remember
Found a short in the secnd hand passengers airbag plug and the passengers seat pre tensioner had not been clipped together properly. The airbag has a plastic bung that clips into the actual metal part of the arbag as a guide for the pins and to suit the holden/gm connector. this had a short in it that most likely occurred when it was taken out of the donor car. Showed as a low resistance error. The internal terminals had touched and caused a short. Fixed. ESP Code is thrown if the maf is unplugged and the brake fluid is low.
There are no airbag codes and the light is off but as the module has a different vin there is a strange "no environment" code on both the bcm and airbag module. Have not decided whether I wll just replace the module with a new one as if I do need the airbags the $300 odd dollars will seem insigngicant if they don't work. I will investigate this further with the efilive guy who is a diagnostics expert apparently.
I have finished all the interior and wiring

So that is the stereo wiring run to the back to facilitate the future amp/processor/speaker upgrade. 4 pairs for feed and I split the tweeters and doors so we can run full active for time alignment later. I also ran the center channel to future proof the system. I have also run wires for 3-way fronts as all my cars have had that in the past. So that makes 9 pairs back to the speakers. I made a connection harness to join everything back up so I can just unplug that and connect directly to amp/processor. The wifey even helped me work out the identities of all the wiring.. It takes less time to work it out than to label it and the labels always come off...
So Ticked off the list
Finish the modified stereo wiring
Passenger door dynamat/waterproof and install door card.
Put the front seatbelts in
Check all lower dash parts are done after column change
Install front Bumper and modify the the connector to the standard 20pin from the 16pin
Adjust the bonnet fit. Adjust bumper fit.....
Radiator and Condensor
Master Cylinder to ABS brake lines
Install Rear Bar and Tailights when the broken bits arrive from holden on friday
Install Rear Compartment Interior Panels
Finish Harness Wrapping and Dynamat under rear seat.
Panic Handles in Roof Lining
Fix Error Codes
Left to Do
ECM fix so the damn thing runs.
Install Windscreen wiper and front upper engie bay plastics.
Bleed Brakes
Change Diff to New Evoke One and install tailshaft
Install Exhaust
Install Lower Airflow Panels
Repair/Replace steering rack end and ball joint damaged in accident
Install Windscreen / Camera / Mirror / Rain Sensor.
Fluids
Wheel Alignment
New Wheels
Drive.
Code keys to the car as only 1 of the three keys I hav ork ith the immo
I sent a lot of time today cleaning the workshop as I just couldn't stand it any longer. Put all the spare evoke parts in bins and set aside all the parts for the GTS
I can see the floor now
Should get the rest buttoned up tomorrow and hopefully get the ecm thing sorted.
Cheers

Chad that looks amazing  Nice wiring & very neat too. Disappointed to hear the anomalies you're finding from the Delco site in mismatched wiring connectors. Ive spent a huge amount of time & $$ accessing the site for pages on the VE & now VF cars. I have a few of the previous models Infomedia manuals & found them very accurate. Guessing being a US site is very difficult to verify the differences in model variants!
An amazing amount of work and attention to detail. Great work and thanks for sharing.
So life has gotten in the road a little bit....
I only got the GTS Shell back from the repairers last week and have had people letting me down with the bumper modifications and repairs before we send it to paint. So still waiting on others for the GTS.
I have learned a massive amount about the VF Electronics and have worked out a plan of attack to get the v6 running with the SS modules and evoke bcm.
They are all secured and don't like having their identities changed. They need to be authenticated all together.
You can with the holden software "prepare the module for removal" which deletes the security. I have used this to allow me to hack the dash cluster secutiry and allow the ss dash to be installed with the evoke bcm.
I need to do the following to get the ss stuff working.
1. Build a wiring harness that facilities to plug in all the modules from the ss including the ecm/pcm, bcm, dash, hvac module and steering lock modules
2. prepare all modules for removal.
3. flash the ecm with hptuners with a Calais v vin
4. flash all modules to to the new Calais v vin.
I just have to make sure the Calais vin I get has the hardware modules are the same version as the SS. Not for the feint hearted.
I have put the evoke electronics in the car to get it going which has some interesting ramifications.
The front windows regulators, front door wiring and window switches are different and not compatible when the bcm is changed. This seems ridiculous as all you loose is auto window up. The rest is compatible.
The keyless go has the immobilizer module in the centre console and it is identical to the one that is on the steering column in the evoke. There are three wires and they just route differently between key and keyless.
There are 2 other wires that run to the key barrel that change between the keyless module and the key barrel the rest I going to unused pins and makes no difference if it is plugged in or not.
SO the current status of the wifes cars is it's running and on the road as an evoke with ss dash.
The Heads up works and the auto dimming mirror works.
I got a set of HF-20 genuine Holden wheels for it and I'm going to lower it as It is just to high. Will post some pics after I put the plates of her and get it detailed.
Cheers

You are an amazing man Chad - what a top effort.
Cheers old m8
That's good news Chad, glad your nutting out the VF electronics :goodjob:
Keyless go is working.
Ok.....
With the evoke working it was time to try and break it...
Prepared the v6 ecu for removal.
Errors come up that no security was in ecu... aweome
prepared the ele tronic brake module for removal
prepared the hvac module for removal
prepared the cluster for removal
swapped the bcm to the ss one
immo learn the ecu and BINGO! She started.. .
Now I'm programming all the modules back to the SS BCM.
It take ages as it makes you wai 10-13 minutes between each module... For Security I spose....
Who care I have defeated it.
There are now the issues of swapping the door harness switches and regulators back ans some error in the system to nut out or determine if I can ignore them or not. Swapped the stereo back to the ss one too.
I'm really pretty chuffed about this development. A little pissed that I didn't work this out earlier as it is obvious now.
Awesome result, have suffered through Holden security BS a couple of times now well done on defeating it!
now to make it think its a Calais v sport wagon
What are you using to program everything? Is it the new version of tech2 whatever that is called or does EFI Live get the job done.
Bloody remarkable effort by the way.
It's a Chinese knockoff GM MDI or tech2 replacement with a subscription to acdelco tds which is the same system Gm dealers use. Efilive is only for ecu. It is all about how you use it to get the job done. Order of programming is everything and it doesn't come with a manual. You also can only program based on factory options the car came with. Hence why it thinks it is a Calais v sport wagon.
Its ts now a Calais v with working frontview camera, lane departure warning and rain sense wipers. I also added an auto chromatic mirror from a captice v. I have the heads up display working and it was orig from a mako but I have reprogrammed it to be Calais v so it boots with Holden logo not HSV which appeals to my OCD.
I have now resolved some issues which would allow me to program it as as a Craig Lowndes and still maintain the v6 and gain TPMS. The only problem seems to be the brake vacuum sensor signal from the ect is different in the v8. I don't care enough to sus out these issues just to get TPMS. Plus I would have to it the sensors. And I know someone else working on it.
I also like like the blue screen of the Calais compared to the red ss.
It seems like changing airbag modules between cars is a problem as there is no way to remove the security to allow changing to a new vin. So it crashes when programming and doesn't recover. It does generate dtc codes having the wrong vin but airbag light is off. I will be putting a new module in to make sure all is good.
It was a little scary when I had prepared all modules for removal and basically had a clear car with no response to turn it on. i now know how Holden sorts this at the factory as I stumbled onto their routines and button presses to get the keys programmed at power on when they build the cars.
Mathis adventure has allowed me to work out how I can do the GTS with the dash showing wagon rather than sedan on the dash. The EDI inages will be much harder. I may be able to pull apart the software inages for the radio firmware upgrade. This will be low priority but will probably bug me enough to get it done at some point.
I I should have it painted in three weeks.
Can you share the link where you bought the MDI? I have a Chinese copy of tech2 but now have a VF so tech2 is no good.
You mentioned the blue screen of the Calais. Are your computers from a Calais or are you able to change the red screen from the rest of the range to the blue screen?
I will be replacing my CalaisV VF at the end of the year with an SSVR but much prefer the blue of the Calais.
I can change them but it is a risky process for a car that is in warranty ... It requires chnging the imges as the different colours are not in the unit it overwrites them with the alternate ones. Same as wagon vs sedan. The boot indicator is same but displays a different image...
at this stage ou would have to change the vin in the dash and radio.. updating the units and then change the dash vin back. Any software updates by holden would change them back. The radio would have to be vin linked by another means as changing the radio vin back changes the colour back. I may look into this as it is beyond dificult to get it working correctly. It would be at your own risk re warranty etc.
I would hae to look at where the mdi came from i dont remember...
All this actually pretty scary as the likely hood of failure during this is pretty high.... Especially when you have no fallback.
As I sit here im updateing my mylink as I was missing 5 versions. 4gb download and takes hours.....
I can now confirm that I have tested all the clais feaures in my car and they all work... took it for a run and got the frontview to calibrate and activate the lane departure and gap alert.
Now to just need to get the GTS back from Paint to start the fun one.
Ok, thanks for the response, I think I might just stick with the red dash, it sounds a bit risky for a new car.
