Repairer visited today. Minor damage overall
lucky it didn't crease the rear qrt panels. any luck new boot & bumper and lights and it's all good.
Very sorry to see this happen. I know the pain. I had a well known Sydney workshop take my car from their empty parking area where I left it, put it on street where road works were being done and and then place a fallen yellow metal barracade right in front of it. Was a windy day, so you can guess what happened to that barracade...
The owner then calls me many hours later and lies to me about what happened and says we NEVER damage cars, but I'm sorry, it's your problem, not ours. I checked with our lawyer.
I said I want to come and get my car, don't worry about the work. Sorry, we already pulled it apart, you will have to wait until the work is done. Rushed it in before calling me. So much so that they didn't do the before dyno run I requested. Just pulled it apart so it couldn't be taken. They then put the build up on their Facebook page...
To top it off, they broke a rare brand new interior part I provided for fitting and I had to track the replacement down myself. But they did reimburse me for the part cost at least. I then had to get my car fixed, which became a whole different saga.
Ironically, I ended up being very unhappy with the work done by this workshop and redid the whole lot anyway. So, just under $5k down the drain. I later met other people who had their cars damaged at the same workshop, so the we NEVER damage cars was another lie. A very unpleasant experience, but I tried to stay cool about it, even with fans of the shop telling me I was the problem...
Took the car to a different Sydney workshop (that this shop had been rubbishing while I was picking up my car) and the results were great, cars still spot on all these years later. So, something good came out of it.
Far out man!
Hope your luck improves mate.
Four and a half years and $150k and still don’t know when it will be finished. Insurance companies are ####ing around
I have run out of patience and so I’m thinking of selling it. Lost interest
I would never do this again
Very sorry to hear Dan.
I would make the mechanic pay, the car was in his care & he parked it out in the street for it to get hit.
He can chase anyone else he thinks is to blame.
How the heck can he not man up & take responsibility while he was supposed to be looking after your car when you have spent so much money with him?
I suggested that - they said they can't because of the insurance laws.
Can't ####en believe it. They said it was being covered under public liability not motor - that's why it is taking so long. And i don't give a flying #### - not my fault and I have to take it up the arse yet again
Who is your insurance company & what is their reason for refusing the claim?
I just want my car for ####s sake. I have been super reasonable all the way through. It seems that nice guys really do finish last and get continually reamed
What about the truck driver or his insurance?
Why is he not paying?
