It’s a HSV quoted time so every factor would be optimum.
It will be interesting to see the times from independent tests.

Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2
I think guys at the local strip are probably going to better the quarter time with a low fuel load and sticky surface.
Agree with the comments about the interior. A little disappointing, plus sunroof and full-sized spare should be no-cost options.
But I guess nit-picking as the GTS is still a very good performance bargain.
The standard GTS wheels also look better in those pics than previous pics don't you think mjrandom?
Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2
Vulture I am still happy I went with the SV wheels, they don't look too bad and are the unique GTS wheel until someone throws them on a VY SV6...

I think you will find that it will be quicker. It will be one of the times where the figure is understated.

Like all those E Series owners still trying to get a 4.9 from their stock cars.
I think the GTS is a great car and possibly the last we’ll see like it from a local manufacturer and I’d be happy to mod one but I do believe if you are going to spruik 430kw you need to be able to go fast as well.
4.4 as HSV claims isn’t slow but in my opinion it’s off the pace for that type of power output.
Even more so if it doesn’t reach those times in the real world.
I’ll wait and see how it goes up against something like an R spec GT, a cheaper car with a far more conservative power rating.
A 430kw GTS should blow away a less tech'd 335kw powered GT very easily, I’ll wait and see.

The GT is similar in power to the GTS. That 335 is horse dung. 335 at the rears is closer to the mark. Hence you should not expect the GTS to blow away the GT
Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2
The killer is almost 2t with driver, fuel and spare.
Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2
I find it amusing people who say they would think 4.4sec is slow for the power output. A RWD sedan will never get under 4 seconds on the road with street rubber. The laws of physics will never let it happen. I'm sure with a set of MT's and well prep'd track you will get sub 4 0-100 times. Where the GTS will shine on the road is as an all out roll on monster. Take the GTS to Powercruise and I'm pretty sure in stock form it'll eat most of the cars out there in the roll on drags.
The power of the new GTS should not be underestimated on just 0-100 times alone. They are almost irrelevent now in this day in age of high power cars. Cars even for the same drive, size and weight will be able to keep up 0-100 but after that they wouldn't have a hope.

VERY VERY welll said mate.....there aren't gonna be too many people unhappy with this car...
Sure, maybe it ain't got some of the quality of an AMG.....but if ya want that, ya pays the price....about $160K MORE for the E class!!
Cheers, Pickles.

Yep, the in gear times will from another world I think. 80-120kph. Better still would be the good ol' 0-100MPH or 0-200KPH
Cheers, Matthew

Not from what I hear.
Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2
GTS is a 500kw plus car with a tune and simple pully change. Try and do that with an E63 for similar modification money

What are you hearing? Any inside info?
Anyway low 12s out of the box in a fully loaded car is pretty good if you ask me

How do you figure that one? It has the same 0-100km/h claim of an M5! Which has similar power...........
The GT R-spec is not half the car the GTS is, the R-spec is a little bit of "chuck some stiffer springs and some wider rears and she'll be right" type of car. Fast in a straight line but useless elsewhere (it did get punished by the SRT8 around a track after all).

Mate...anything to do with this car....You are super negative. Why is that?
Cheers, Pickles.
