SSV ute got upgraded audio from MY10 on (amp and twin 8in subs). Nothing spectacular but decent enough for my ears.
Guessing they've just carrying that over into VF but with much better interface. As you said though, it doesn't look as though they've adjusted the redline price to reflect the fact it misses out on the premium audio ala sedan...

Wagon yes, ute no.
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics - Part 3
Can anyone confirm that the Bose system has a Bose head unit?
From what I've read it is actually a Panasonic or Sanyo rebadged.
Bose amp and speakers though.

So Ford sells more Territories/ Falcons than Holden sells Commodores, obviously Ford has AWD and diesel options that Holden doesn't, but Ford gets rubbished for low Falcon numbers when reality is the Falcon and Territory are same platform, engine transmission (petrol 2wd version). Essentially both companies are building similar number of cars. From a locally built perspective, Toyota is selling more Camry and considering it is sedan only plus presumably Aurion numbers are additional to Camry. Not to forget though Holden has Cruze, so about 3800 locally built passenger cars for a month for Holden.

I believe that is correct. Apparently bose don't make head units
