If my memory serves me correctly, HSV was one of the first cars with an LS3 so why can't they do it again and release it with the LT1.
Lets hope HSV pull a surprise .
It will not happen period.

Exactly. Faster, more nimble, uses less fuel, brakes better...

My source has led me to believe that there are options as to which V8 variant you buy, be it Holden or HSV. So I feel there will be some engine change/update from at least HSV, so Holden will follow also. I say this in relation to discussions regarding entirely different exhaust componentry and layout etc etc. too many things I have been told point towards substantial changes.

interesting, but Holden has also said that the VF range will be consist of less variants - presumably to get rid of the low sellers, but also to reduce complexity on the production line. so if there are more V8 choices, wouldn't this increase complexity?

2 V6's and 3 V8's across holden and HSV platforms. Yep that's an increase... By 1

A S/C LT1 would be amazing but I guess they'll need to keep that ace up their sleeve for another 4-5 years

By then commodore will be nearly dead. Can't see HSV investing that much money on an engine that doesn't even exist yet

engine does exist, but not yet on sale as the C7 Corvette doesn't go on sale until later this year. The LT1 won't appear in any other car before the Corvette.

Show me this supercharged lt1 that exists.

So if the third engine is not the LT1, which variant is it? Is it maybe the L99 with AFM?
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
i think it will be like with the early VE's. HSV had the ls2, whilke holden got the l98/76 --> Which is basically an ls2 block with DoD heads and different cam.
HSV will still have the ls3, but the holden's will get the 'ls3' block with afm heads and different cam. It will be called something else (ie not ls3) and eventually
hsv's will get the lt1....

The LS3 with AFM is the L99 as seen in the new camaro, it has 300Kw which doesn't leave much head room for the HSV unless the bump up it's power a bit.
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
I have no inside info.....only what I've read.
So, I've read that maybe a "6.2L" engine will find its way into SS, particularly for the American market.
When VZ was introduced, HSV was the 1st to receive LS2...shortly after the Corvette, so I would expect the same to happen with LT1....but I reckon there'll be more of a delay than with LS2.
VF HSV?..What I'm hearing is that initially they will be LS3 powered, but I'm also hearing that GTS is going to have more power, I've also heard "LSA".....but this engine may be too "old" to use, although I'm sure no-one would complain about 432kw?
All "speculation", from me anyway, at this stage.
Cheers, Pickles.
Re: VF Commodore revealed next week.
This transition period would be a good time for HSV to implement the LSA. 415kW isn't it?
