Wonder what slap on the wrist they get this time

They got a relatively small fine & had to start Sandown today from the back of the grid.
I wonder how often this sort of thing has happened in the past in Australia?

I heard some commentary on this, evidently the engine overheated which may have contributed to this.
But the already had a tolerance built in which they exceeded

I heard that the engine had more lift in the camshaft than the rules allowed it to have.
It seems like blatant cheating IMHO & I reckon they have got off too light.

the QUALIFYING engine used at Bathurst had a camshaft that had greater than allowed lift.
and
so they (the car) shhould have been disqualified from Qualifying and at the stewards pleasure
allowed to start the race (with a different engine) FROM THE REAR OF THE GRID
(as the rules state)
If Car #17 HAD STARTED FROM LAST PLACE...as the rules intended, they were
at least say 20 seconds behind pole
and so, cannot be the winners. A $30,000 penalty is a joke... plus the $100,000
penalty that was hanging over the team did not get dragged into this.
Supercars management have lost control of the category...

Yes Smitty, that's exactly what I heard, the camshaft change was 100% intentional cheating IMHO. :flipoff:
Problem was that they did not strip that engine & find the cheat shaft until much later.

Still have to wonder if the same trick has paid dividends in the past?

My thoughts exactly. Its a shame as it puts an even bigger cloud over McLachlan's bathurst win and one over his championship. A real shame as he is clearly the in form driver at the moment.

Yes it does :yup:
Re: Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 10-13 October 2019 *spoiler alert*
Yep. Much as I believe Scott is a great steerer the whole approach of DJRTP has tainted his win at both Bathurst and the championship. To me 2019 is now a non event due to the governing body giving them what amounts to only pocket money fines. Absolutely no punishment for such a rich team. I was losing interest already - now CBF with Supercheats.
Re: Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 10-13 October 2019 *spoiler alert*
So DJR team debris have done it again.Bull$hit fine and starting rear of grid is too little too late. they should've had the engine checked straight away.CAMS need to grow some balls.
As good of a driver Scotty is, this year will forever be tainted
