i went to its good to see some racing here but i dont no how long it will last only 1/8 mile with no track prep it was more like a powerskid comp than the drags i wont be racing there till they get there act together il just keep going to whyalla and racing at least the track is killa .if they got a heap of money together and put a killa 1/4 mile track then they might see something happen till then if they leave it 1/8 i think people who are serious will just keep going to whyalla and mildura or traveling interstate to 1/4 mile tracks people who are serious about the sport is who they should be chasing not the weekend warriors that they are targeting at present just my view

I was out there today. Was a good day, I'm not sure what the quickest time was but there was a yellow xr6 t that was running 7.2 ish and a white xt which was running 7.3's. Running under 7.70 was no problem as long as you had an Andra ss license. 1 red 4 door lh Torana got told too put it back on the trailer due to running a sub 7 pass I suspect but that was also a comp car even tho he claimed it was a streeter......

As a rule of thumb, how fast is a 7.70 1/8th mile pass relevant to the 1/4 mile?

It depends on the car and other factors...but a 7.70 1/8th mile would give you a sub 12 sec pass...perhaps low 11s roughly. It's quick...but it's not earth shattering...

i think you need a super street license quicker than 7.7 over the 1/8th and 11.99 on the 1/4 at an andra track that is

I've done a 7.70 which ended up being a 12.0

I went out for a look yesterday, wasn't overly impressed but it was a good day for a drive out there.

Like I said on another forum, they would want to pull their fingers out AIR has bits missing in the bitumun so it needs resurfacing before anything happens - they havent managed to do it in the last 6 years, highly doubtful they can do it in 6 months

heres a link to the condition of the track from april this year - apparently the track was resurfaced 2 years ago but a picture doesnt lie

According to the ANDRA site,

" ANDRA National Operations Manager, Brenton Myers has confirmed that work has already commenced to address the upgrading and maintenance works necessary for compliance with ANDRA Track Specifications.

Once all necessary improvements are complete a thorough facility inspection will be conducted, subject to compliance, an ANDRA Track Licence will be issued to Racing ONN Promotions in readiness for ANDRA sanctioned events to proceed, initially over the 1/8th mile. "

There is a lot of work too do. The track needs to be fixed, walls need to be touched up and re painted aswell as general maintenance around the place and something should be done with that shit hole tunnel running under the track too....

Here is something good coming up in Adelaide in a couple of weeks time to take everyones mind off drag racing. Known as 'real racing' its a fair bit harder on the car, but is a superbly organised series. Bigger than 1/8th mile too :)
