If the VF is only reduced by 30kgs I would consider this a failure. It would need to be 70kgs minimum.
The new Aurion is an all new model. VF is not an all new model. Much, much harder to pull weight out of an existing product than it is to design it into the core vehicle of a brand new model from the very start.
Think your expectations are perhaps a little unrealistic...

With all this talk of the SS to be used in NASCAR at the beginning of the 2013 season and also speculation that the Holden teams in V8 Supercars starting the 2013 season with a VF.
This all suggests that we will see the VF before the end of this year.
plus I think the slowly declining sales of the VE will push forward the release date of the VF.

Wouldn't the changing of the bonnet to aluminium save 10-20kg right there? Or am I expecting a bit much too?
Re: Motor Mag VF "predictions"
maybe if it were made of polystyrene
The bonnet couldn't be much more than 20kgs at the moment.
Oh, and the VE looks like a dirty arse, and this representation of the VF looks like the used toilet paper after you've wiped

the VE Series 2 already has the touch screen, so I suspect it will carry over into the VF.
Re: Motor Mag VF "predictions"
I'll wait and see what's under the bonnet before I make up my mind.
Re: Motor Mag VF "predictions"
like the ford, motor doesnt make up for looks IMO.......

I don't think the fact the picture exists is odd. I'm sure Holden knows what it's doing. They could trying to get some feedback.
Re: Motor Mag VF "predictions"
On the topic of VY / VZ Calais. VYII and VZ Calais is one of my favourite Holden shapes. VY SS and WK / WL Caprice have aged well. The only thing VY / VZ is missing is iPod integration stock.

This could suggest an earlier release though it would only be the chassis that would be needed for the race cars, just have to sit tight and see.

The chassis is not needed at all as they will all use the same COTF (Car Of The Future) chassis, the basic outside skin panels is what's needed!
Re: Motor Mag VF "predictions"
carsguide has a spy shot:
http://www.carsguide.com.au/blogs-an...os?origin=hpc1
how close are the tailights in the spy shot compared with Motor's prediction? still don't have my subscription copy.
