:yup: If that's it's greatest selling feature?
Meanwhile... I am just trying to imagine the traffic jams caused all over the country around Holden dealerships
by all the guys wanting to trade up their old Commodores when this is released!

I can't imagine that selling to too many long term Aussie Holden new car buying customers. :nono:
I believe you are completely correct.
They claim the front wheels are pushed forward, unfortunately not enough.
The sharp crease bonnet line (I hate it - looks like a feature from the past - the failed AU Ford Falcon)
Interior looks cramped for a supposed large car.
Sorry Opel, Mazda Kodo design flows better and looks better.
I'm afraid these will sell well - just as the Ford Taurus did, way back when - in Australia.
GM need to stop smoking something, as this will be disappointing to say the least.
There are plenty of better cars to choose from with lower running costs / durability long term than a Euro Opel or other equally crappy European cars for Australians.
Interesting times indeed.
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
Holden has again confirmed the new Commodore was designed by its German stablemate Opel, “with input from the GM Holden team”.
Yea, input like "sugar in your coffee?" or "do you want fries with that?" :lmao::lmao:

So do you guys want the Holden badges in the same place as our Opel badges? Ummm. Think so. Done. Input received.
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
Ha! Imagine a typical holden er i mean opel "technition" in a typical holden er opel stealership trying to sort out the electrics in one of these shitheaps. God makes me shivver at the thought

I've just read this thread from start to finish.. its from 2014. You'll find gold on page 3.. but whatever. Reads like yesterday.
Its done.. its over. Because those who did so have moved on.

Utterly disappointing.
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
the new NG Commodore...
Does NG stand or No Good?
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
So if the new one is as quick as the old one on the road and tracks with corners are you still going to hate it?
Remember in 2008 MOTOR the 325kw HSV GTS and 230kw Nissan 350Z got exactly the same lap time at Winton.

I don't own a Commodore to corner quickly, I own it to go fast in a straight line. Plus I can put half a ton of cinder blocks in the back of the ute.

nah, NG is the sound you make when you see it or think about it
Re: ... 2018 Commodore replacement, NO V8 or turbo :(
Well I guess three things come to mind-
1) Holden has said there will be a V8 for enthusiasts, so for those that don't like this Commodore there will be something else.
2) SUV's have by far overtaken large cars in sales numbers, and large cars will probably continue to decline in sales numbers. Will this sell in big numbers? Probably not.
3) The average person who is not an enthusiast won't care. As long as it's priced right and they think it looks good and drives well they will buy it.
Yes it's a sad fact that a part of Australian motoring history is being lost, but the average person has changed their buying habits. We have now the best Commodore ever released, but people are buying 4cyl buzz boxes and 4WD's in big numbers.

Latest Wheels mag have it at the same size as VT-VZ Commodore, so quite a decrease in size over VE-VF. Is also a hatch back with large boot.
