The rubber likely might have just come loose, should be a very easy fix.
The original wheels are a matte finish, should be easy to sand out any soft rash & paint them with a rattle can.
I have done a few like that.

Is it the actual door seal hanging out or the side skirt seal Wally? If it is the latter, good luck finding one of them. Might be easier for sedan, but I have been searching for one for my Ute for months, when I do find one it is worse that the one I already have.
Yes Mick, been to various GM spares outlets around Adelaide (mainly Elizabeth) and pretty much laughed at when asking for certain parts for the 02 Ute. Some parts are still available at a premium, but a lot of bits that you would think would be in abundance are simply not. Surely they would have kept a certain amount of these sort of spares? If they have, maybe they are hanging on to them until people get desperate, then release them for drug money?? What if one of these cars get put into crash repairs and needs a $40 trim part that is no longer available, do they just leave that part off?
The door rubber is actually broken /split right where it is hanging down ,i was a bit lazy for the week and couldn't be bothered looking ,i know a wreckers that might have one or 3 (condition unknown ) i do need a few more little bits for the cars here so i will be off for a gander on Monday .
I can tape it in place for the time being car might only travel 3 ks for the whole week when it is used ,other wise i use Kyle's Ute.
Just a quick update, had some work done on the engine, going to pick it up shortly just waiting for Kyle to get home.
I will add to the story a little later.
Has had a cam install done this week.
Good stuff Wayne, looking forward to hearing more.
Got home about 30 minutes ago after going through what was done.
Kyle purchased a VCM 710 Cam kit a couple of months back, he chose this not me.
Dave and the guys at Salisbury EP have done a great job they spent all day tuning it.
Lots of parts replaced, lifters oil pump all gaskets sump removed full of crap, timing chain and such.
Made 271 kW @6045 rpm and 479 nm @5000 rpm.
Haven't been able to give it a go just yet but it gets up and goes, has a choppy idle seeing as it is ground on a 110 centre.
I will take it out after tea for a run tonight i am still the only one allowed to drive it, kyle can in a couple of weeks.
Sounds good,
great result, Dave is a good bloke & his Mainline dyno is not known for reading happy.
Top stuff, I bet it sounds a bit tougher now too. :yup:
It sounds tough no boubt about it, stopped at the Port Wakefield Waterloo cnr lights and there was a red manaro in the top lane Kyle said he spun his head around.
It goe's hard and sounds like a race car cruises in 5 th at 100 no prob.
Kyle loves it, so do i.
It has shut its self down once Dave did explain what was going to possibly happen but she is getting better.
Sounds great Wayne.
What are the future plans?
His plans up next are replace the stereo and speakers ,seeing as they were removed, all the cabling for an Amp is there and active power as well ,but he is not focusing on the Amp just a double din unit for now and a front /rear dash cam and some bigger brakes as yet to decide on them yet .
Kyle also is looking to redo the seats along the way .
He was thinking of getting a hard lid at some stage ,the guys at EP said why not leave the tarp on it gives it that tradie look with colour it is ..
I think a short shifter is needed also ,we have spoken about that he is happy as for whats been done so far ,it will be a weekend car (This is also what Dave said) he will use it for the odd trip to work ,he works in Edwards town now so 40 odd minutes from home .
And may be a True trak along the way .
