Let me know what you think.
Here is a VE running an 11 at 119mph - what you should be aiming for
He is running better tyres though.....

PS. Its manual on street tyres
I would just get out there and practice more. Maybe even take it to a independent dyno operator for a run, just to make sure it is running how it should. Who did the work?
Ps- went 12.6@114ish in full street trim in my bolt on VE ute over 2 years ago, stock 19's and all. Practise makes perfect. :)

Wow!! That's outstanding for a bolt on, especially on stock tyres!! :goodjob:

Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
Yeah but I did probably over 200 runs in 12 months, racing pretty much every Wednesday night and the odd private day. It was good fun. :)

Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
had my first crack tonight at willowbank as well. rather disappointed in how it played out. average 60' time was 2.4 seconds. first couple of go's used hsv's 'launch control' (4.5k) setting and never got out of the hole. tried launching myself from 2'5-3k and still couldnt get the power down, with some serious axle tramp to go with it. any less then that resulted in bog. is this a common problem with the E2's? Ran the stock 20" pentagons with continentals on the rear and hsv's suspension upgrade.

thats a great time muncha. was that with the standard 3.45 diff and on a manual car? what was your 60ft like? the best time ive done is 13.0 @107 (60ft 2.05).
Im putting it back on the dyno soon, however i dont doubt the power figures as it was tuned at a very reputable tuner who i trust.
Someone with the same cam as mine, however with 3.9 diff has run an 11.7 @ 117mph on slicks (not sure whether radials or proper drag slicks) recently. he had played around with suspension setup etc though. Ive only done about 20 runs spread across the whole drag season so i dare say its mainly technique involved in the slow times. Moving to perth soon so ill buy some drag radials and have a crack next season!

Diff was a 3.71 out of a hsv with a trutrack LSD centre, manual with a Tex z grip clutch. Suspension was as per factory ssv stuff. The 60' was around 1.81 from memory.

Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
That's an awesome 60ft for street tyres too!! Makes me think the Trutrac really helped. :yup:

I guess it looks tuff very drag spec. Mark seems to have a few fast cars popping up lately, nilooks to be the man to see with nitrous setups

Thanks mate, was pretty surprised as i only went out there hoping to get 11.8 on my first ever outing and 11.6 was my goal for cam only setup on the ute. Cant wait to get out there and actually launch the thing and not tap the limiter on first gear

Thanks mate, i have find find out full size, as i just burrowed some old used slicks to give it its first go, where 17" hoosier just will get you the rest of the details when i go have a look at them.
I thought the same thing when we where doing the conversion, but wow it surprised us all, so street friendly!!!! smooth through all shifts up and down, dont even really feel it when you change gears. the manual was abit of a pig with the big cam but the th400 has just made it as smooth if not better then my missus pulsar.
We have a 3.7 diff also but thought give the 4.11 a test as it was already in there, and seems like it goes well.
Will get a video of the driveabilty when i go out todayand post it up

Why is the T400 sooo much better than the A6 when it comes to drag racing? A6s also have good stall converters now and the ratios are nice and short ... strange.

The reason i went the th400 is one that it was cheaper and easier to do as my car was already manual and turbo 400's are a mechanical gearbox so no electronics just full manual shift. The A6 i would need all the wiring redone to the auto wiring and also i have seen to many bad reports with built a6's and didnt want to risk it, yes there are ones that are goin well but thought i would just go with the th400 and not risk the chance of wasting all that money.
Also with drag racing i think the th400 works well is because it is manually shifted and works great where as the A6 is electronically shifter and have to rely on the electronics to be perfect

Anyone had a run at Kwinana since Whoop Ass Wednesday has been back?

Yes I've been down there, however they are still using the long 60' for Wednesday nights.

hey champ what do you mean by long 60' ??
-
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
There is two sets of start lines.
The one closest to the tree is the correct one and is 60' to the tree.
There is also another start line that is about a metre before the correct start line, this is the one that is used on Wednesday nights usually.
-
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
Ive been told all andra tracks use a false startline soposidly to protect the real startline from damage.
-
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
okay i see what you mean so that isnt goin to effect 60' times ?? I'm assuming they just bring all the sensors back a meter
-
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
No, the tree stays in the same place but the start line is further back.
ie: the 60' is longer and so is the track longer than 1,320'.
-
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
Most ive spoken to say it adds between 1 and 1.5 tenths of a second, bummer if u consistantly run 12.0 to 12.10 and are trying to crack an 11.

I think you are a bit off the mark there. If you are running 180kmh you will cross the line doing 50 metres a second. Therefore for every metre the track is longer will add 0.02 of a second. Not significant at this level of racing.
-

I got my info from a couple of old drag racers who run in superstreet and also with us on a wednesday, 1 of them has a car that runs 10.9 in superstreet but they said they cant break sub 11 on a wednsesday as the extra 1.5 meters goes on ur 60 foot times just what ive been told never tested it myself.

Do you have a tune for your bolt ons? If not, a tune and some 20psi rear tyres might get you what your after. Otherwise a 3.27 LSD diff will get you there.
