Great news. Hope to see the beast on the roads.
Congrats on Reg mate
Awesome mate! Have seen a few pics on Instagram, it look absolutely fantastic!
Finished the window washer motor driver wiring. Worked as expected.
Modifed the rear bumper mounts to suit the modified bumper and make it completely secure. Also modded the inner guard liners to properly clear the dfilippo exhaust.
Urethaned the Side skirts that were not sitting well enough at the dog leg.
Go an awesome Birthday present from a mate as well...
When I bought the taillights is wasn't aware that the Tourer ones were different. They look much better and I put the others on the wifes car... Yellow and Red just don't go well together. I like it better

There is a problem with configuring the BCM and it is not a simple as I first thought. Not all the config is in the eprom. It actually loads different software. Which at this stage I cannot access. It would be so easy if I could circumvent this stupid rpo code thing but that is not what holden want you to be able to do.
I tried the seat heaters out and they weren't working which was strange as they were before. Turns out Clubsports don't have seat heaters.
I flashed in a Calais V BCM and they don't have TPMS which broke mine but Not sure if it can be reactivated/linked to the sensors in my wheels.
I have some avenues to try to activate the TPMS in a Calais V BCM but need an TPMS activator to play with it. Anyone on here work at holden in Brisbane could loan me one to play with overnight :P
So at this stage I have a choice between having :
1: rear washer/wiper and tpms and no seat heaters
2: tpms seat heaters and no rear wiper/washer.
The tap shift is not simple either. You cannot easily tap into the existing sport mode shift without building and interface box which is an ugly solution and what is currently available. I'm looking at getting a new BCM as the 2014 part supercedes to current one which means I could program the 2015 gts bcm and then change the security to suit my car. I need to confirm the wiring as I don't trust the Online stuff.
Still need to install the stereo.
A least I can Drive it.
cheers

Looks awesome Chad......would love to check it out next time you are down the GC....
Was thinking of going cruising on Monday.... Who wants to come.
That looks f#cking amazing, without wanting to kiss your a#se I'm genuinely in awe of what you've done to create that car, hopefully you can get the last couple of electronic niggles sorted.
Jason.
Very nice Chad, I reckon blacking out the rear badges as you mentioned earlier in the thread would top it mate
Craig takes great pics Chad...I am sorry I couldn't make it. Hope to see you at Saturday Night Live soon......
something like this would do the job. does look a little odd with the black background, my black holden badge is open.
http://s3.caradvice.com.au/wp-conten...-HSV-Badge.jpg
I may get the carbon part of the badge painted yellow..... or each alternate square to make it look like Kevlar...
But a little chrome matches the tailpipes and the other tiny chrome bits on the car. like the passive entry buttons and possible the badges I'm going to put on the rear doors.
Seems we have created some buzz with this build on social media.... And brought the use of what it's called and the use of HSV / GTS Badges on cars like this to the front. It appears that no matter how well a car is built or how much of the donor car is used or how complete the project is there are some that feel it is not worthy to wear the precious HSV Badge.... Let alone the GTS badge. I would say that changing wheels and cam or upgrading a supercharger is by their logic a "Modifed" HSV is no longer a HSV's. I don't get the logic.
This car is not a mock up or body kit ca. It's a vehicle that allowed a broken GTS to be re-incarnated as an improved form of itself rather than be stripped, scrapped and spread all over. If it was a legit HSV body shell with cut in half and a wagon rear grafted onto it would be way less safe but would it still be a legit HSV? Ahh Grey area... It would be a POS but a legit HSV. At what point does a car change into something else than what it was born as. I have had the same axe for 40 years but it has a new head and two new handles.
If you copied/cloned an existing HSV and tried to pass it off as an original then there would be issues legally. No one here is under the illusion that this is genuine but to say I cant put badges on it because that somehow says its real because it has a badge.
Does this vehicle denigrate the HSV Brand. NO... It does show the lack of vision at HSV to not do this vehicle and how easy it would have been for them to do it properly. They have forever missed the boat unless this makes the re-evaluate and put out a last hurrah.
If HSV Built a GTS Tourer Wagon then it would be indistinguishable from this car. I would argue that when this occurs then it has earned the right to badges/name. Maybe the colour is a problem and If I painted a legit one would it then not be legit. I will make no apologies for putting GTS - HSV or any other badge on it I choose to and all the purists can sit and die a little inside when someone calls it a HSV GTS.....
I'll just enjoy having a one off HSV GTS Tourer to drive.... No one else can and you cant wipe that smile of my face with any number of posts on social media.
Vent Over.
Cheers

Pictures are popping up of this thing all over instagram. Dont worry about the haters, this is truly an epic car that anyone on here would die to have.
Credit to you for being so thorough and building such an amazing machine
I think... this is a super example of what Aussies do. If you can't get it do it yourself.
I actually asked HSV when GEN-F was released if they intended doing a GTS wagon ...aand asked again when the Maloo GTS came out.
Nup ... was the answer in both instances ( I bought the last manual R8 Tourer instead)
I would be happy too.... and in my opinion, you can stick the middle finger up to the haters out there
Yeah I know exactly what you are ranting about. The comment on Facebook was ridiculous. It's not a tarted up SV6 with a replica fibreglass front bar or something it's a full blown GTS everything conversion.
It's "Your" car, you can do what ever the hell you want with it, stuff everybody else...
If it puts a huge smile on your dial, every time you look at it or even think about, your've won...
The OEM chrome finish on the badges gives it Sophistication and Class IMO...
A little bit of OEM Chrome bling is always a good thing.
You've done a Stellar Job...
FFS there is not pleasing some people out there. This is an awesome project with more effort put in than anyone would know looking in from the outside. You resurected a HSV from the dead and gave it a bloody fantastic new body. I can understand your frustration with the haters and it would take the gloss off all you have done. They are probably want on and are spewing HSV will not do it and they arn't smart enough to figure out how to do it themselves.
Spot on mate, leave social media where it is :lol:Quote:

Unfortunately its another case of tall poppy syndrome on the social abuse media! I suppose the people that are on their high horses dont realise that all the bodies come out of the holden factory initially?
You have done an awesome job mate, and yes unfortunately HSV themselves missed this market, and also let people down by removing the manual options in wagons!
The only thing i was thinking have you thought about the F2 bonnet with the vents to help break the yellow a bit at the front, otherwise i love it man well done again.
Cheers
Maccas
superb job and now you can enjoy the fruits of your labour. Cant get much better then that.
Would be fussed about social media..... its your car enjoy it :)
If everyone took a lot less notice of and spent a lot less time on social media the world would be a much, much better place. I think George Clooney said something like "I'd rather have a televised colonoscopy than a facebook page", that pretty much covers it for me :).
Jason.
Chad, don't get too wound up mate. What you have learnt and taught from the Katie wagon to this one is far more than a set of stickers on the car.
I take it you have never been to a HSV owners club gettogether? These turkeys get wound up over different tires to standard, not using Mobil 1 oil.... You get the drift.
I see trailers of VFs all the time on the Monash, heading to Clayton to get a body kit and stickers etc etc. all you have done is do it in your own house, with your own hands.
Relax my friend, enjoy what you have done and don't let a group of clowns get in the way of that
I agree with everyone else here. Great car and a great build and if others can't see it for the awesome machine it is then they are a bunch of muppets.
I reckon the majority of workers at HSV would agree with us!
Would love to have the skills, time and money to be able to do this.
Have often wondered what it would be like to transfer this sort of stuff over to the old HZ wagon I have.
Enjoy what you have done and just know most of the others are just jealous. Me included.
awesome build
you should be proud !!!
Put a chev badge on it. :hide: Seriously , some people have nothing better to do than put shit on things that they are jealous of because they are too stupid to be able to do themselves. Well done and i am sure everybody on here appreciates and respects what you have achieved .
Someone changed the stereo in my car. Does that mean I have to take the hbd badge off now? Lol
>>>tappin from tassie
Most people could only dream of what you have achieved here mate, an awesome job and a huge credit to you for overcoming the technical issues that have arisen during the build, bloody top effort , and yep go rub some salt in to all the do gooders out there you have created one awesome wagon .
My cars been the victim of social media abuse. My car got posted on a FB car page and a couple of blokes were having a crack at it. Bugger em I say!
Most of them will be pimply young kids with no gumption - just jealous of what you can do and what you have........ :nutkick:
Superb build and thanks for the journey reading this thread. It was a pleasure.
Now I have a question with your rear bar how hard is to fit a sedan bar on a R8 tourer?
