My phones have a tough life so I always get rugged cases. I am using a Case Mate Tough Case on my GS2 and haven't looked back. It is expensive at US$35, and most likely not available through Vodaphone, but it's a terrific case. It does make the phone larger (again), which I was very concerned about, but I don't even notice it now to be honest, and considering it's a two-piece case the size difference isn't actually that big. Worth a look anyway, but as far as other cases I have no experience I'm afraid.

They also do a softer case if that's more your style. Otterbox is another high quality tough case provider to check out.
Vodafone are doing damn good deals so push hard. I got them down to $5 a month on a $29 plan for a SGSII on 2 year contract for a single service. So you should be able to get it free on $45 for 12 months. Whatever you do, try not to drop it too much. Gorilla glass is great for scratch resistance, but being such a big screen in can crack fairly easily. +1 for a good case like Evman says.
Vodafail. FFS if you actually plan on using a smart phone. Its worth being on a network that works well. Telstra ftw.
iPad 2
From everything he has told us so far he is a call/sms user, with photo/video's on the side. No use paying double the price for a network he will likely never use. In saying that, around here Vodafail reception is crap even for phone signal (so I would never go with them), but since he is already on that network, its obviously fine for him.
Well deal is set, little indian called us this arvo, $10 on 12 month thats a great deal, plus getting covers and chargers sent out too, he is calling within next 2 day to confim cases and chargers
Vodaphone, never had a problem myself this year wife did she called up and they gave her 4 months free service, untill next upgrade, we have been with them for some time, was with telstra a few years ago not very happy with them they shafted us with shit phones and service,

Rooting and installing revolution ROM should be mandatory for every SGS2 owner.
on the Cases.
I'm still waiting for someone to bring out a 3 - 5 layer protective case for the phone.
Every decent phone gets one except for the Galaxy's =/.
eg. Kraken Case

Looking at getting a Galaxy 2 next week just gotta pic between optus and telstra so far the optus deal looks better.
We've got 3 phones with vodafail only been with them for 3 mths and have had non stop reception issues in north parramatta and westmead after complaining to the ombudsman we have been granted release from the 24mth contracts..
Coverage (esp country) was king for me so ended up Telstra. Helstra charge because they know where they dominate. 3 was great until they stopped roaming onto telstra. Optus, vodafone etc. Just couldn't deliver the coverage I needed.
I LOVE my Galaxy S2 !!!!
go telstra.
I'm with optus and sort of regret it.
i don't have problems with normal phone calls, but with 3G it can be a bit random at times.
