I just cannot get my head around the Libs NBN plans. Actually i can, its one of those plans where you hope you dont have to live with the consequences in 3 or 6 years time when another government has been voted back in.
As of now, i am stuck on ADSL1 coming from a rim, i wasnt fortunate enough to be on the Telstra Top Hat list before that got canned and to be honest, i'm not extremely hopeful that 24mb broadband is going to do a lot for me either (whenever that may happen). The rim i am on gets smashed daily from 4pm (school kids i would guess) and unless they upgrade the line back to the exchange, it will continue to get smashed.
You have a serious lack of understanding for the need of this NBN (and a selfish view might i add), it will cost into the $100's billions more in the future to get it right again once the Libs have shoved their penny pinching mitts all over it. Current copper infrastructure is totalled, it's an absolute disgrace that they would actually try to make it last any longer.
The wireless/4g options are useless they are reliant on network traffic, range and reception how is this a viable substitute for a nation whose thirst for bandwidth increases exponentially every few years!?!?
Oh i forgot to mention the cost of data for wireless is extreme compared to a fixed "hard wired" solution. It just cannot compete Gb for $.
