So life has gotten in the road a little bit....
I only got the GTS Shell back from the repairers last week and have had people letting me down with the bumper modifications and repairs before we send it to paint. So still waiting on others for the GTS.
I have learned a massive amount about the VF Electronics and have worked out a plan of attack to get the v6 running with the SS modules and evoke bcm.
They are all secured and don't like having their identities changed. They need to be authenticated all together.
You can with the holden software "prepare the module for removal" which deletes the security. I have used this to allow me to hack the dash cluster secutiry and allow the ss dash to be installed with the evoke bcm.
I need to do the following to get the ss stuff working.
1. Build a wiring harness that facilities to plug in all the modules from the ss including the ecm/pcm, bcm, dash, hvac module and steering lock modules
2. prepare all modules for removal.
3. flash the ecm with hptuners with a Calais v vin
4. flash all modules to to the new Calais v vin.
I just have to make sure the Calais vin I get has the hardware modules are the same version as the SS. Not for the feint hearted.
I have put the evoke electronics in the car to get it going which has some interesting ramifications.
The front windows regulators, front door wiring and window switches are different and not compatible when the bcm is changed. This seems ridiculous as all you loose is auto window up. The rest is compatible.
The keyless go has the immobilizer module in the centre console and it is identical to the one that is on the steering column in the evoke. There are three wires and they just route differently between key and keyless.
There are 2 other wires that run to the key barrel that change between the keyless module and the key barrel the rest I going to unused pins and makes no difference if it is plugged in or not.
SO the current status of the wifes cars is it's running and on the road as an evoke with ss dash.
The Heads up works and the auto dimming mirror works.
I got a set of HF-20 genuine Holden wheels for it and I'm going to lower it as It is just to high. Will post some pics after I put the plates of her and get it detailed.
Cheers

You are an amazing man Chad - what a top effort.
Cheers old m8
That's good news Chad, glad your nutting out the VF electronics :goodjob:
Keyless go is working.
Ok.....
With the evoke working it was time to try and break it...
Prepared the v6 ecu for removal.
Errors come up that no security was in ecu... aweome
prepared the ele tronic brake module for removal
prepared the hvac module for removal
prepared the cluster for removal
swapped the bcm to the ss one
immo learn the ecu and BINGO! She started.. .
Now I'm programming all the modules back to the SS BCM.
It take ages as it makes you wai 10-13 minutes between each module... For Security I spose....
Who care I have defeated it.
There are now the issues of swapping the door harness switches and regulators back ans some error in the system to nut out or determine if I can ignore them or not. Swapped the stereo back to the ss one too.
I'm really pretty chuffed about this development. A little pissed that I didn't work this out earlier as it is obvious now.
Awesome result, have suffered through Holden security BS a couple of times now well done on defeating it!
now to make it think its a Calais v sport wagon
What are you using to program everything? Is it the new version of tech2 whatever that is called or does EFI Live get the job done.
Bloody remarkable effort by the way.
It's a Chinese knockoff GM MDI or tech2 replacement with a subscription to acdelco tds which is the same system Gm dealers use. Efilive is only for ecu. It is all about how you use it to get the job done. Order of programming is everything and it doesn't come with a manual. You also can only program based on factory options the car came with. Hence why it thinks it is a Calais v sport wagon.
Its ts now a Calais v with working frontview camera, lane departure warning and rain sense wipers. I also added an auto chromatic mirror from a captice v. I have the heads up display working and it was orig from a mako but I have reprogrammed it to be Calais v so it boots with Holden logo not HSV which appeals to my OCD.
I have now resolved some issues which would allow me to program it as as a Craig Lowndes and still maintain the v6 and gain TPMS. The only problem seems to be the brake vacuum sensor signal from the ect is different in the v8. I don't care enough to sus out these issues just to get TPMS. Plus I would have to it the sensors. And I know someone else working on it.
I also like like the blue screen of the Calais compared to the red ss.
It seems like changing airbag modules between cars is a problem as there is no way to remove the security to allow changing to a new vin. So it crashes when programming and doesn't recover. It does generate dtc codes having the wrong vin but airbag light is off. I will be putting a new module in to make sure all is good.
It was a little scary when I had prepared all modules for removal and basically had a clear car with no response to turn it on. i now know how Holden sorts this at the factory as I stumbled onto their routines and button presses to get the keys programmed at power on when they build the cars.
Mathis adventure has allowed me to work out how I can do the GTS with the dash showing wagon rather than sedan on the dash. The EDI inages will be much harder. I may be able to pull apart the software inages for the radio firmware upgrade. This will be low priority but will probably bug me enough to get it done at some point.
I I should have it painted in three weeks.
Can you share the link where you bought the MDI? I have a Chinese copy of tech2 but now have a VF so tech2 is no good.
You mentioned the blue screen of the Calais. Are your computers from a Calais or are you able to change the red screen from the rest of the range to the blue screen?
I will be replacing my CalaisV VF at the end of the year with an SSVR but much prefer the blue of the Calais.
I can change them but it is a risky process for a car that is in warranty ... It requires chnging the imges as the different colours are not in the unit it overwrites them with the alternate ones. Same as wagon vs sedan. The boot indicator is same but displays a different image...
at this stage ou would have to change the vin in the dash and radio.. updating the units and then change the dash vin back. Any software updates by holden would change them back. The radio would have to be vin linked by another means as changing the radio vin back changes the colour back. I may look into this as it is beyond dificult to get it working correctly. It would be at your own risk re warranty etc.
I would hae to look at where the mdi came from i dont remember...
All this actually pretty scary as the likely hood of failure during this is pretty high.... Especially when you have no fallback.
As I sit here im updateing my mylink as I was missing 5 versions. 4gb download and takes hours.....
I can now confirm that I have tested all the clais feaures in my car and they all work... took it for a run and got the frontview to calibrate and activate the lane departure and gap alert.
Now to just need to get the GTS back from Paint to start the fun one.
Ok, thanks for the response, I think I might just stick with the red dash, it sounds a bit risky for a new car.
