Geez, These pics are bringing back all sorts of memories. I just loved my old coupé, that dash (even though you couldn't actually see it at night), the noise the low roof. You've done a fantastic job on the resto ziggy.... I'm almost inspired... will be a Camaro this time round however.
Dreadve - your car looks very familiar. I was working in WA about 20 years ago (yep getting old *sigh*) and the guy I was boarding with bought a candy apple, extensively worked Monaro with a polished firewall. Just wondering if this is the same vehicle? the thing was a fantastic car with no expense spared.
Cheers,
Ryno
Well done, Ziggy, car looks amazing, youve done a really good job with it in a fairly short period of time. Its good though ive just showed a mate of mine this thread to hopefully get him to pull his finger and finish his HQ GTS Monaro Coupe. Been trying to get him to finish it for about 6 years now lol
Cheers
Matt
Yep, tell him to get his finger out and get it done, lol. Im sure he will love it.
Drove the car to work on Friday and the poor old muffler couldn't handle it. Have got a few loud rattles coming from the inside of it.
Have booked it in on Friday morning for a duel 2 1/2'' system. Will be interesting to see how different it will sound.
Very happy with the job and the sound.

Bet you just wanna keep cruising in it lol
Cheers

Cool Ziggy,
sounds a treat, get out amongst the shit boxes, and let them hear a real aussie built car.:driving:
Top sound...as befitting a classic Monaro.
Cheers, Pickles.
Sounds great with the new pipes.
Considering in their day these things sounded pretty good with only twin 2" so must sound even bet in the flesh with twin 2 1/2".
Makes me miss the sound of my old HZ Premier, factory 308 TH400 (was a early one before they switched to TH350 trans.... feb `78 IIRC) Had very long tri-y extractors on it when i bought it, never did find out what brand they were and no old holden blokes could tell me either, but the secondary pipes ran side by side under the car until the trans crossmember then into a collector at the end of them. It had a dual 2 1/4 system with the chrome chevy drop pipes (turned down to face the ground).
Sounded really good and not overly loud or thong slappy, made the twin system my brother had on his 351 XD Ghia sound lame!
I might go dig up the DVD copy i made from a old cam corder tape, has some in car, drive by and rev up footage ( dash was out as a Woodgrain GTS dash was being repaired to go in)
Cheers Phill
Hey mate, have you got any pics of how the tail pipes exit the car? Do they just dump behind the beaver or how are they setup, they look nice and tucked up/hidden from that vid, that's all.
