If anything, the two side by side confirms my view that the VE works best as a 'sporting' model and the VF works best as a 'luxury' model. The white VE Calais in that pic looks more sporting than the VF which looks very bling and luxo. I think the same is true for interiors - the VE Calais interior is pox for a luxury car whereas the VE SS interior is good for a no-nonsense sporting model. The VF interior is great as a Calais; the VF SS (etc) basically have a Calais interior.
So obviously the solution is to own both a VE SS and a VF Calais so your options are open depending on your mood :)
Are you saying that if you had a VF SS you would want it to come with the VE interior? :errr:
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics - Part 4
Was just speaking to my dealer who had VF training yesterday and they were saying with the self parking system it parks in to a right angle park but between two cars only. If there are two bays empty it wont work. In addition it wont angle park between two cars.
I asked what if it was the last carparking bay with a kerb down one side...they said a car needs to be on both sides. So it looks like adjusting the mirror down to watch the kerb when reversing will STILL happen....
Also they told me that if you buy the full size spare wheel for the GTS you will lose boot space as the wheel well no longer exists and the wheel will sit on the floor in the boot....sucked in if you play golf and you buy a GTS :flip2:

Well it makes sense. Do u really need park assist for 2 empty bays? :) Anyone that does shouldn't be on the road in the first place ...

Me too. GTS should have all VE and VF top line features. A dipping mirror is a must. Not because it will make some huge difference but because it has been there in VEs since 2006 and now in cheap $13k cars.
The seat memory, puddle lamps, etc etc should also be there. I mean I am sure they could charge another 1k (a huge margin) and add those to the flagship.

Why do you need dipping mirrors with a reverse camera anyway?
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
Can't see how close you are to a curb with a camera.... Only thing cameras are good for is lining up a tow ball!
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
There's always the old fashioned way of actually knowing the dimensions of your car and not being lazy relying on tech! You know that's how most of us were taught, in my opinion were all becoming to lazy in our driving and relying way to much on driver aids! Next thing you'll want auto pilot!

Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
hi guys
so i did my first set of wheels on a vf ss ute yesterday. looked pretty sweet. black 20,s on a white ute. noticed that they have changed to the redline wheel nuts on all the cars now so no more wheel nut covers. also looked at the evoke. i,ve got to say it is impressive for a base model. it wouldn,t take much to tart it up a bit and it would almost pass for a calais. also noticed that you can,t see the exhaust on the evoke due to the rear bar design. looks a bit naked really. oh well. i could live with it. the royal peacock colour is nice too but you may as well buy black. it,s so dark.
cheers tezza

Fark....I hope it doesn't sit on the carpet with some straps or something? Surely not.
I don't mind losing some boot space but think I'll probably take the wheel out unless I'm going on a long trip, saves weight :up2sum:
