VF Series II IS HERE

What does the back look like? That is what ruins the VF range, it is the UC Torana fiasco all over again :)

They need to do something to break up the big slab of rear bumper on the current VF, similar to what HSV have done...

Or buy a ute lol

But will it really be any faster??? The GT-F isn't that "much" slower down the 1/4 than the current GTS. Surely they could spend the money on redesigning the rear end trying to find more speed in traction?

Well considering the GT-F has more power at the wheels than the GTS, yet the GTS is faster. The rear end in the GTS is not going to get any better than it already is, more power is all it will need as traction/power down is not an issue.

Nothing wrong with the rear end in the GTS. Plenty of quick modified ones, running good times on street tyres.

At those sorts of power levels I predict at best a 0.1sec reduction in 0-100 times and maybe a 0.2 sec reduction in 1/4 mile times, at best. I would have thought maybe some moves to take weight out of the car or other tech would be more cost effective and beneficial surely?

I originally discounted the drive article as the LS9 has been out of production for some time. However, Chevrolet Performance (crate engines) still have limited stock. HSV could grab a number for a limited final year run. Interestingly, LS7 is still in production in Silao for the Gen5 Camaro Z28.

The problem they face is a lack of money or willingness to commit said money to a dying car. It is obviously more cost effective to just turn the power up rather than re-design parts for weight reduction.

There's still the deal about carbon fibre parts... But I don't see that as a major weight saving. Can easily trim some of the fat from the GTS though just by removing all the luxo options
