iPhone 5 announced and maybe released October 4th. I'd wait and see
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
I have just literally been on the web searching for new phone ideas and was wondering about the same thing,
also looking at value for money plans around $60 per month?
Is Telstra still far ahead of the others in coverage?
I am currently on a $79 plan with Telstra but looking around Optus will give me about equal usage for $49.
Cheers.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
The Samsung has better quality graphics. The iPhone has more compatability with other things. Other then that, its much of a muchness. A personal choice.
If you go iPhone, get the latest one you can. I have a 3Gs iPhone. I got mine about 2 weeks before the release of the i4. Once i had a look at the i4, i regretted not waiting.
If the i5 is almost due for release, i would hold off until it is released and take a look at that one.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
Considered a Windows 7 phone? Got both of my parents onto on they seem to be happy with it.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
Not to mention Korea is about to get a 1.5GHz, 4.65" screened Galaxy S2. Worth importing that one for sure. I have a GS2 (regular, 1.2GHz lol) and love it. But, I never was big on iPhones anyway.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2

I have no idea, never even looked at either.
Can you get all the same "apps" thingy's for the samsung as the iphone
like that gizmo that gives your quarter mile times and speeds
and that usb bluetooth scanner for the Commodore?
Not really interested in itunes because I have a wireless in my car anyway. :jester:
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
iPhone no questions asked. Heard too many horror stories from guys I work with that have gone the Android route and been majorly disappointed with the amount of problems they've had. Not only that, even if you have a malfunction with an iPhone, Apple won't hesitate in replacing it with a brand new iPhone, unlike other companies that try repair the problem, leaving you without a phone.
They also have a huge amount of support, this is why half the other companies trying to bring out competitive products are failing. The Apple App store is just far too stronger force to compete against.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
iphone 5 is going to be annoucned october 2nd thats when apple has its conference so if i was you wait just a few more days then make your decision
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
See if you can get a play with them both and see what you like. I have a iphone and tried the samsung galaxy 2 but i could just not get used to it after having an iphone for so long. However i must say that the galaxy2 had a great camera and felt nice and thin with a big screen.
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
3 Android phones so far and not a single hardware problem. I have had minor software ones that are resolved with updates, as can be expected. One thing that I hate is the "some guy had a problem with an android phone so I'll never buy one" argument. We'd never buy anything if that was the attitude. I didn't hesitate to buy my phones from the UK because I know that hardware problems are uncommon to say the least, and I haven't had any problems so far.
Android phones are far from "hard" to use. They simply use a different interface to accomplish the same thing. Best thing is, if you don't like the way the manufacturer's interface works you can always, and usually simply, flash a different one in. Hell, depending on the phone there's probably an Apple style interface too ;)
Re: Iphone or Samsung Galaxy 2
Defiantly not a fan of the iphones, who releases a phone where if you touch the sides of it, it drops out all reception.
Id be holding out for a bit, new Samsung whenever it comes out will dominate, otherwise Samsung Galaxy S2 is what i would be getting.
No issues with android compared to the numerous issues with the iphone

LOL do some research. it was found that its a common problem with Smart phones. Testing found they all do the same. iPhone 4's original problem was software giving an innacurate reading of the reception which in turn made the problem look alot worse than what it actually was. I actually tried cupping my hand round my N97 (work phone) and the 3GS i had at the time in the same way the problem with the iphone 4, and guess what....reception drops. Blackberrys, Samsung etc all do the same.
Media just jumped harder on it than the other phones cause it was such a highly publicized release of a phone, so now doubt was going to be scrutinized very thoroughly if there was the slightest issue.
