For the golfers - my us masters trip
Hi Folks.
Im ticking off a bucket list in a couple of weeks. Since I was a young tacker I would wake up at 4-5am to watch every minute of the US Masters from Augusta National. I fell to the floor with tears of joy in my eyes when Adam Scott won last year as I saw Norman lose three times when he should have won. Anyway, you only live once, so I'm going. Happy to fill anyone in on 'how' to make this dream possible as they are the hardest tickets in sport to come by. I'm going to Tues Wed Practice days, then 4 days of the tournament. Yee-haw!

I float between 0 and 2 handicap and from people I know who have played there, I would struggle to break 90. The greens are that tough!

So what your saying is a hacker on 12 like me will post a great cricket score lol. Enjoy the trip dude n make sure u post some pics up of the adventure. I would love to go but doubt I'll make it any time soon, so I'll just settle for ticking sema off my bucket list later this year.
Out of curiosity I'm interested to see what's required to obtain tickets
Re: For the golfers - my us masters trip
Congratulations! What an awesome trip it would be. We expect a heap of pics on your return.

The package I am doing includes accommodation in a house about 1km from the course, daily breakfast, a few nightly BBQ meals at the host residence, entry tickets, not much change out of $10,500 AUD.
Airfares on top of that.

Im also a keen photographer so Im taking about $5K worth of camera and lens and expecting to take a few thousand pics over the two practise days. Cameras strictly forbidden during tournament.

Very jealous, have a great time. Do you get a chance to have a hit after the open?

No chance. None. Hard enough to get spectator tickets...however, I will be spinning some serious aussie charm and bullsh1t to some unsuspecting Augusta National members in the hope of getting an invite to play in future years...

Lucky to play once a week these days, but been doing it for 35 years. I was way better when I was young. But the current handicap system makes people look better than they are. A 1 marker 30 years ago would be a +4 marker these days!

Playing a championship course is something every golfer needs to do. I had an opportunity a few years ago and played on a very private course while on business overseas. While I play to a single figure handicap it isn't the same end of the scale as you! I played well on the front 9 and was one over. The 10th was a moderate par 5 which I looked at and had banked the birdie before I teed off. Ooops. The 11th was a simple hole as well. Ooops. I carded over 90 for the 18. Still enjoyed every minute though.

Don't worry, I can still rack up big numbers on brutes courses...throw in some wind a firm fast greens and lookout! I actually like getting beaten up by a solid course. Your ball striking has to be perfect to keep in on line, and hold the greens.

Arrived. Haven't been to the course yet. After 2 days of travelling, we arrived in time for a BBQ at the hosts residence. In walks Tony Jacklin and Doug Sanders from the street. Both legends from the past. Beers, laughs, chats..unbelieveable and its only just begun.
