I thought it may be a good idea to have a thread with VE quarter times and times only (keep the chit chat down :)) that could show car mods and quarter times. What this would show is what stock VE's run (some have said low 13's and what the modded and cammed VE's run so you could compare your times with others.Lets also keep it to your own cars not a mates mate or the bloke down the road just owners and their times. This is not a pi##ing contest as my times are not world beaters so even if your times aren't the best lets have em you might find there not that bad..
PLease keep the thread on track its not a tuner vs tuner he said she said Just simple what have you run....
I will start with mine
CAR: VE R8
MODS: Maffless tune,CSV intake,Xforce 1 3/4 extractors and Xforce twin 3" catback.
TRANS: Manual stock clutch stock shifter
DIFF: HSV 3.7 ratio
TYRES: Standard HSV 19" road tyres
POWER: 264rwkw's
1/4 TIME:13.2 @ 108.76 mph 2.1 60"
hey all just got back from the drags, was quiet so managed to do 10 runs over the nite, best was 12.89 @ 178km'h (111mph) with 2.11 60ft..
228 -234 112 cam, hurricane headers and twin 3", ziggy otr and maf tune has 314rwkw's, standard diff, pretty much bald stock 19's full weight 3/4 tank of fuel..
only got 2 runs in the 12 sec barrier and rest were 13.2 -13.3's , ran it stock and did a 13.6..
my question is will a decent clutch and slicks help me get into the low 12's? should i be loooking at some 3.7's now?

There have been a few questions lately re fastest times with this or that in mind and the timesplip database is gone. So I thought it would be a good idea to make one. I decided to build a Google Docs spreadsheet and form for everyone to fill in / investigate. It is quite comprehensive (basically everything I could think of). It will allow anyone to view, search, sort, filter, analyse, chart the data either online or on their PC however they like.
Here is the form where you enter data (the more data with different setups etc the better);

Here is the result spreadsheet (html)

Here is the result spreadsheet (csv)

If everyone could put their info and times in there it would be great. It is also possible to embed it here if the moderators allow that.
Let me know if any changes are required.

took Mums VE SS-V on the last woop ass before the season closed and had 2 runs managed a 13.8 and the car is stock no mods yet with street tyres, full tank of fuel and a boot of stock that mum had to delivery the next morning.
Yep...it certainly is :)
And now that the auto has been retuned to hit the gears a lot cleaner....I'm hoping to nudge 120mph and get under the 12.5 second mark...shouldn't be an issue :)
I think it's got a lot to do with the engine build and the little things being taken care of....getting it done properly...
Also did 32 runs at Heathcote when I did that time...did a 12.76 @ 118mph as well...

anyone know what the (current...) best ET and MPH is for a VE, regardless of mods?

Got warned after the 50 shot for going under 12.0 on a day license, so i'll have better times on the n2o(150 shot) after i get my super street license again.
Will post time slips tomorrow, track was very slippery, got some 1.7 60 foots but then broke out into wheelspin in 2nd and 3rd gears....track has just been resurfaced
Hi, wifes ve ss afm sports wagon

now has full exhaust retune 256rwkw so next time maybe 13.5's
regards Jason
Well done Luke. As many here would not realise 116 mph is equivalent to 119mph at willowbank. Eg Charons GTS runs consitantly 3 mph faster at Willowbank then our track in the tropics. Even on 30 deg days! Humidity hurts them, yeah the colder air now is good but humidity was in the 90s when you did this so good work I say, Combo is working well. With 4.11s without gas and 1.6 sixty at the bank this car is an 11.5 combo.

Going Wednesday night to try again
Was @ Calder today and f*%# I've forgotten how hard it is to get a car of the line cleanly. Anywho this is the net result.

Result - 12.90 @ 114.30mph.
60' - 2.247 - pox but was best for the day.
I was happy with the day overall but just goes to show that with that many ponies you need slicks to get a good 60'.
I really need slicks and gears if I want to get in the low 12's or high 11's.
Thaughts?
Cheers

MPH was good
Duncs
As you are aware the fastest VE since 25/07/10 is now 8.9 seconds at 160MPH.That was achieved with 2 shit runs on a day with rain stopping/starting.Our next time out will be 5th November ( Friday night) and Iam confident of a mid to low 8 second pass this time around.
Go you good thang!! That's a crackin time!! Make me look like Corolla :bawl:
Rest assured Alex on the next outing I'll have MT's and custom 4.11's :)
Alex
My VE is a twin turbo 440cu build,it currently making about 1070hp at the wheels and is capable of making heaps more power-its not your average bolt-on build and has been 3 years in the making,it also has a 9 inch 4 link rear setup.

Are we talking about race cars or a car that actually drive on the street daily
