Great looking Monaro mate:goodjob:
Where was that done?
Nice, pretty good number too!
Thanks. I was pretty happy with it too. I bought the car as is about 6 weeks ago. It is 2004, has 96,000ks, MAFless tune, Pacemaker ceramic 4 into one headers and Exhaust Technologies system, K&N filter and the two hole mod to the air box.
My brother in law who is an automotive lecturer at the TAFE said the tune is old and not really spot on and there is restriction in the intake despite the K&N and the mod. He said he has often ditched the K&N and got better numbers form a new standard filter. He is going to do a tune for me in the new year and we will try a stock vs K&N and see the difference.
So far the "personalisation" has been the removal of some dodgy vinyl carbon fibre from the B pillars and

It has a Sony double DIN DVD player and some tasty DLS splits in the front. I have bought some JL Audio 8W1V3-4 8" subs to replace the stockies and am going to add a couple of amps to beef it all up.
Its never "over" ;-)
Pic I took in the Barossa when we went to the Monaro Nationals. Cousins SSV, Brother in Laws Ford and my CV8. Lions ganging up on the old Henry. :flip3:

All done. Sounds great. Quite happy with the overall result.

One of the prettiest cars Holden have ever produced :D
Looks like you have some big brakes onboard too!
Apologies in advance for the long version.
I had a CV8R previously with two 8” JL subs that were mounted through the top of the parcel shelf. The magnets were sufficiently lean enough to get through. I bought the car with them already in. I tried to find some of them but those particular subs were no longer available so I measured the holes and did my best to find subs with small magnets. I like JL stuff so I settled on the ones pictured. They had to come from the US as Aussie suppliers don’t carry the full range from what I could see.
It was always going to be close so I had a tentative plan B which meant if they didn’t fit I would have to invent some way of mounting them form below the parcel shelf.
They didn’t fit….
I cut some templates out of MDF and mounted them to the bottom of the parcel shelf and then mounted the drivers to the MDF. All painted they are not really that visible from eye level when you look in the car. I was a bit worried about them sealing so I jammed heaps of blutac between the wood and the parcel shelf to fill in any gaps. It must have worked ok because the bass is very impressive. Of course they have 1000 watts going into them.

Long version was good :) Thanks for the write up, very good information.
