Cool, have HSV released any details yet? Can you actually order one? I didn't think they were confirmed yet?
Hi
I did a bit of research and some people have given away information but nothing has been confirmed 100%. One dealership I dealt with told me they have taken several deposits and aren't taking anymore as they believe that stock will be very limited, another dealership told me they would only take deposits if I had previously purchased several new HSV's which I have done over the last 15 years.
The big question for me is will the GTSR name be used?, maybe not....but I do know that in 2017 HSV are going to release something very special and several sources have told me November 2017 might be an exciting month. When I get this information from separate sources that align together I get excited!!
I have placed a holding deposit subject to me liking the vehicle and should I not want the vehicle it will then be offered to someone else.

GTSRVF
wish we had this plate option in SA!
An email form wheels magazine today
Dear Valued Subscriber,
Due to a special issue of Wheels magazine your delivery may be delayed in some areas. I anticipate all copies will be delivered no later than 18/09/2015, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
We held back deliveries of the October issue of Wheels by 24 hours to ensure we could include extensive coverage of the latest - and last - Holden Commodore VF Series II.
Thank you for being a loyal Wheels reader and I apologise about the possible delay in delivery of your October issue.
The first thing I've learnt in modding cars over the years is that if you make it go really fast it has to stop just as well, I know the VF 2 is getting front and rear brembo's as standard but they won't pull up like these!
I remember when having 15" wheels was an upgrade now my discs are that big!!!

Quick update, vehicle is built and dealership expecting delivery this Thursday , they can't even get one for the showroom and they are sending mine off for mods as soon as it arrives!
About a week to fit all the good bits then delivered to me! Can't wait, hopefully I'll be in it this month!
A box of shiny things arrived at HPF today. I can't believe they can fit 2 of these and manifolds etc up under the engine ! Seems a shame to hide them away, I wouldn't mind the look of them top mounted. They could take the place of the ridiculous mechanical sound enhancer !!!

The hood vents are functional for those that were wondering, although not really big enough or in the right position to let that much air through but better than stick on fakes.
Cheers Greg
Hi Greg
Great photos of the VF series 2 SSV Redline ute.
May I ask in regards to the new air inlets on the front bumper, do these direct air directly to the brake disks with some sort of shroud or opening in the internal wheel arch?
Or do they just let air flow inside the bumper bar?
Regards,
GTSRVF
Hi mate, I actually didn't look that closely at the wheels and brakes, as I'm changing both but I'll have a good look when it's up on the hoist at HPF and let you know.
Cheers Greg.
Hi
Thanks for that jkgmh To gjohnson...I sent you a PM with my phone number in case you want to offload the VF2 SSV Redline wheels and brake setup.
Regards,
GTSRVF
Once HPF get the vehicle Matt said he was keen to do a full build write up on their FB page being the first VF2 they have had etc so I'll prob just link to that.
Cheers
Congratulations Greg! :goodjob: Manual or auto?
G'day Wonky, hope you've been keeping well?
Going the Auto with this one mate, not doing track work. It's going to be my daily driver, the manual maloo used to shit me in heavy traffic with the twin plate clutch and lump from the cam, the more horsepower I gave it the worse the street manners became. But it was incredible around a track and that's what I wanted from it lol.
I'm also getting an eboost controller so can have different modes of boost for different driving conditions.
Cheers Greg
Black rims are std equipment on the redline or others available too? They don't do it for me!
Standard on the Red line rather than the chrome on the older models. I think the only other options would be the HSVi stuff, they usually say their wheels clear all brake packages...but they're like an 1800 option/changeover
Guess good excuse to upgrade them
Build looks like it'll be a cracker.....
Ian't it funny that everyone wanted the black rims on the VF S1 and Holden couldn't keep up with supply. Now they are standard with black no one wants them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't i guess.
This twin turbo setup is it a complete kit or custom job? And any link to the kit if it is? Cheers looks like it's going to be good
Going well thanks!!
Sounds like it's going to be a beast! :goodjob: Part of the reason for asking is I know someone who had a stealth TT WM Grange putting out 400+rwkw (LS2, stock cam) and even though his auto was extensively/expensively strengthened down that way it eventually gave up the ghost, so he's gone back to stock as got sick of it. Admittedly he wasn't gentle on it. :D A perfect A6 tune is an absolute necessity as a few guys on here have proved running in the 10s with stock autos.
Those standard rims when you see them on the car in person are a real shocker in my opinion.
Even though I’m currently researching for a set of aftermarket rims I optioned the HF-20 Staggered Forged Alloy Wheels in Black for my Redline Ute.
I was quoted $1500 for a factory fit which mine will be or $2500 if done by the dealer.
I would have liked them with the machined face finish but the staggered sizes only come in black.

APS kit, I opted for the larger turbos in case I ever wanted to strengthen the driveline and turn up the wick. They have 1300 hp capacity.
Cheers Greg.
Yes Wonky, well aware of the auto box limits. Boost will be kept at a reasonable level, still loads of torque on tap.
I also opted for the 20" staggered wheels to fit the 6 pot brembo's .
Can't wait to get it👍
Sorry I posted the wrong link, I had too many turbo webpages open haha
It's ASE turbo kit not APS

I don't mind the look of the black wheels, and they'll hide the incessant brake dust a lot better than the pentagons used to. One option that I'm glad I didn't get is the blacking out of all the silver trim! Can't believe they charge extra money to make the car look like the bottom range taxi pack!
There was a brand new wagon next to mine at the dealers with that option and it looked so plain ? I don't get it?

Blacked out option

Each to their own I guess?
One thing I dont like is the big round badge in the middle blocking the air.
