I bought a 2012 696 Monster the other week and am enjoying it , makes a change riding something that doesn't weigh over 200kg.
It needs new tyres , they have only done 7000km , but they are the originals fitted to the bike and are a little old and hard.

One of the blokes at work joked that i just need four more bikes and will have one for every day of the week.
I just got this after kiling the touring sx se version....

Nice machine there. Can't imagine what 200+ hp would feel like.
Meanwhile, there's been a little upgrade in the shed...

02/2000 ZX-6R with just under 14k on the clock. Old but new. Cost me $3800 plus about $1300 worth of tyres and servicing.
Cheers,
Mick
I didn't know PB has gone so bad.... you can watch moving pictures of the bike here..

Put a deposit on a Livewire today , pics to follow (Monday or Tuesday).
Wow!
Those things look amazing.

I would be a little worried about the safety on them when moving between other vehicles
as nobody would hear them coming & they are quite fast.
I will have to be a little more careful in traffic , need to make sure I ride like I am invisible.
I had wanted one since the Project Livewire was announced back in 2014 but was put off by the near on $50k price so hadn't even test ridden one when they finally arrived here in Australia.
From what I understand it hasn't exactly been a resounding sales success and is being spun off into it's own brand.
There is a LiveWire trade-in deal at the moment , which is what I went there to check out.
It will take a bit to get used to not having a cloth or brake lever and cruse control is a new one for me (on a bike)
oh yeah... and that is one reason I bought a 12R !
157kw at idle to a max of 171 as speed increases
That snout might be not the best bit of design but damn it works!

Update:
171rwhp is kinda fun, huh....

Am not used to using a Mac for resizing photos , I tried yesterday and gave up.
Wound up doing it on my other pc.

Some aspects are taking a little time to get used to , in eco mode it's almost like one peddle driving in a Tesla (have test driven one of those), you pretty much just need to roll off the throttle to slow down with minimal use of the brakes.
It's about 250kg and a little top heavy , but once you are on the move.
Last night I charged it to 92% and it had about 75% when I got home from work today, about a 50km round trip.
Thats about 10km of back streets & the rest highway with speeds from 60-80kph & some roadworks thrown in and stop start traffic.
Cruze control on a motorbike is also a novelty for me but it seems to be fairy simple to use.
The servicing intervals surprised me , first is at 1600km then every 8000 (typical Harley intervals)
