some nice pics there tigerVXss
Some pics of my ex VZ LX Adventra in outback NSW
And the last one is a reminder that it's not a "real" 4WD - ripped the tyre off the rim!
some nice pics there tigerVXss
All Avalanches came out with the 4l65e .
Hey Listy , no offence , but
are you sure your's is an Avalanche and not a mocked up VZ Adventra ?
Coz the last of the VZ Adventra's LX8 were fully optioned and fly by wire 250kws 5.7's.
plus Avalanches didn't come in Silver .
and your front is compleatly different from The VZ Avalanche .
or was that put on after the accident ?
hey Tiger , careful , lol .
besides the rolled off wheel ,
how did the Adventra preform ??

XUV mate you are wrong in a few aspects........
Not all avalanches come with 4L65Es although all XUV and cross8s did which im spewing on....
and avalanches did come in silver have a look here
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...s=18&silo=1011
and here
http://www.redbook.com.au/used-cars/...d=12111DC9CBE6
also have a look at listys engine covers there a HSV item and the rims look genuine worth over 3grand so unless someone spent a minimum of 10Grand on hsv parts it has to be a HSV
I have to be honest the front bar seems a little questionable ive looked at as many avalanches as possible and havnt found that front bar having said that it doesnt mean it wasnt a special option/order/1off/promotion car/many other posssibilities
if you speak to a hsv surplus specialist they will tell you about all the 1 off they can get there hands on sometimes ive seen HSV seats with a HRT logo etc.
See post 14. That is what I got off the floor from HSV. Same bumper.
Pretty sure it is a avalanche too. It is a VZ model avalanche for sure. I know there was not many of them at all in the VZ. Allot of docks say this VZ (Vy11)
Also there is heaps of silver avalanches around. Used to be 2 in darwin.
Had a quick look on the plate to try and help with what tranny these had. It says MD6 which means nothing to me.
The name plate I grabbed a quick photo off too. Also the engine covers are the split type on the VZ too. Few very minor differences. The front bumper not sure off until I can find another VZ Avalanche. Build date May 2005

They ordered the replacement one after the bingle from the local holden shop so some models must have them. Build date May 2005

Hers my cross8
o.k. was just going off a XUV specs pdf .
you didn't get the 65 .
and agree with what you say .
If someone went to the trouble and money to spec out a VZ Adventra to HSV ,
with all the options the Last of the Adventras had as standard ,
Then he got a bargin .
p.s have you checked your number here

Yes it is a vz hsv awd. Straight frpm the hsv site, i have the certificate when i bought the car, maybe not vz in the xuv though.
CROSSEDUP your cross8 looks awsome mate the engine covers look great with the charger between them really makes it very neat and very tough
HSV listy mate your avalanche looks great only thing is the wheels in my opinion and your bumper is awsome anyway its different there must not be many true vz avalanches because i searched carsales webisite for every avalanche and not 1 had your bumperbar
Listy, had his front bar replaced when he was forced up a curve by a truck that didn't see him, so maybe that's why it's different, because it genuine HSV have seen it in the flesh and looks the goods.
Cheers Alex
I got those big F off air horns now and I will have a custom in car camera system set up in the next 2 weeks so now there is now getting away.
Unfortunally that bloody front bar has been replaced twice at a cost of about $1800 each time to the insurance, both bars were purchased genuine off HSV and it is still the same look as the one I got when brand new. The last bar took weeks on end to arrive after ordering so I presume they are not a stocked item.
Here is a 2005 model with the same front as mine on a XUV. I dont think there is many of the VZs around.

Cheers mate. The wheels I am working on. I have some others but getting tyres are a bit of a challenge to find at the right price. Big, wide and chrome buggers

Sorry Listy ,
but you're right .
What threw me was the VZ's tow hitch point .
never realy noticed the difference it on the VZ model before .
Then after much review
XUV VZ
XUV VY11
XUV VZ
I concede .
I knew there were 2 different bumpers ,
but hadn't picked up on the differences .
Funny thing is i almot bought a VZ model twice ,
but didn't like the bonnet .
hey fellas im looking for a little help off any of you Avalanche/XUV owners take a look at this link
Australian LS1 and Holden Forums
Im was selling the ute, so I pulled all the good stuff of it, to put on a monaro. But now with a looming seperation at home I need some cash for a new pad, so the ute and blower must go. Im keeping the heads, cam and other bits just in case.
