    Re: Y-Series Senator Signature

Exhaust still isnt bolted up, i thought i may as well wait till my heads etc arrive so i can do it all at once..

Fraser still hasn't got my heads from MAST yet? dont know what the go is there.. Also, the 1.7 Ultralight RR's arent available atm, so ill be getting 1.8's instead.

Ive got all these ideas ticking over in my head.. Im thinking i should get the heads decked and run 12:1 compression and if needed, fly cut the pistons? Make the most out of the E85/eFlex.

Have put my order in for gaskets and seals and some polished holley valve covers with SpeedInc, just havent settled on a cam yet. Got 2 cams in mind though. An Isky 243/250 with 650ish lift or a Comp 239/247 660ish lift. @ 108/9 LSA..

Anywho, got some plates for her and a nice pic.

Why so big dude? Kinda kills the essence of a senator I reckon. You'll want a big stall to use it

I wanted to try a nice big cranky cam and see how quick I could go with the ls1.
I've still got my built 4l60e and circle d converter and 3.9 diff from the old senator, so it will be alright.

After all, it's only a simple cam swap if I dont like it.

Hey mate love the ride, VY signatures are my favorite model I noticed that the 2 cam shafts that you have chosen have massive amounts of lift, just my opinion would be to think long and hard about the amount of lift that you chose as you will be changing valve springs every 12 months, anything up around the 650lift region really punishes your valve train components, i was looking at cam shafts around that size for my engine build but was talked out of it by my engine builder because of the extra maintenance involved.. Totally up to you though will be tuff which ever way you end up going, have a look at the comp LSR cams they are really fast ramping cams and you will not be disappointed, suss out the 235/245 620 lift specs very happy with this cam in my car...

The cam I ordered only has just over .600 lift, just with the 1.8 rockers it brings the total lift up a tad. I've ordered a.700 lift k-motion spring kit with morel link bar lifters so I should be ok. Even if I have to replace the valve springs every 12 months, they only cost 120 just to replace the springs. No big dramas.

is that going to clear your pistons Tom?

id be measuring that all before you put it together, esp with shaved heads and a decent stick.

i know with my cam i had to sell my ls6 heads as the cam was to big and the heads had been decked to much, in the end got higgins to port them and not take anything off the face so i would have PTV clearance

    just a thought

It should do, it's only a fraction bigger than a T-Rex cam and these heads have more ptv clearance due to the extra thick deck. I'll check it all anyways and if need be, buy some lindy cutting tools.
