engineering not required if fitting to a vt-yz
even execs cam with ls engines......
so no problem only need to go and change engine number onto new chassis
cheers
Hi all,
Long story short I have cammed/blown ls1 and built box etc etc that I want to transplant into another car.
I now have a family so thinking wagon. (vy cable tb)
Was thinking adventra but too hard with long tube headers hpc coated I already have and swapping transfer case among other things so maybe berlina or ss, with leather.
The question I have is if I bought a v6 berlina would I need to have it engineered to change to ls1 or as that model came out in ls1 form can I just drop it in and inform of new engine number? Could this be done to an exec wagon even (not that I'm after one, pure curiosity)?
Obviously the reason I ask is because I can pick up a v6 a he'll of a lot cheaper and I can do the work myself.
This is in Vic also.
Cheers, Michael.

Did the execs & berlina's come with larger brakes or different suspension from factory when fitted with v8? If so, wouldn't it need to be confirmed that you have upgraded these 2 vital systems before it can be legally licensed??
Not sure myself, just throwing it out there.
I believe brakes etc were the same.
One more more question is will vicroads have to sight the engine number ie. Will I have to pull the blower off to take it in and show them or is a bit of paperwork all that's required?
