Exclamation Tapatalk support has been discontinued indefinitely....

This thread/post is to inform everyone that I have removed Tapatalk support from the forums. This has been done for a myriad of reasons, some of which are ..

    • Too many holes/bugs and continual updates/compatibility problems.
    • Tapatalk homogenises all forums to look the same and strips off look, feel, functionality, features and other things that make each forum individual and unique.
    • Tapatalk also has caused significant impact to banner impressions etc. without providing any way or means to really address this shortfall.
    • The forums have hundreds if not thousands of hours invested into creating, managing and maintaining them all of which are lost with Tapatalk clients.
    • Mobile users can easily access the forums via mobile web browsers and I have conducted extensive testing on this with many different phone platforms and browsers. The forum loads and responds quite quickly in mobile browsers (even on older slower smart phones) often loading and responding faster than .
    • Mobile users can also choose Mobile style(s) which are an integral part of the forum. The style chooser is at the bottom left of every forum page. At present the default mobile style is the only one available however I will be developing a new Mobile style for to forums over the coming months to reflect the look and feel of the forum's desktop style.

I will post updates in this thread in order to keep anyone who is interested appraised of the progress and any developments etc.

I was at first shocked when I saw this Sidey but I have since logged in with the mobile web browser again & been surprised at how good & easy it is to use now.

Last time I used the mobile web browser it was nowhere near as good as it is now

Can even use chatbox on mobile now

For those of us not smart smart phone owners how do you go about it?

TapaTalk was easy but seriously cut down to nothing so no huge loss if there's an alternative!

I have created a second shortcut for the "Whats New?" page, (the button on the top left of the forum home screen) that shows all the latest posts.

The only thing I'll truly miss not having the Tapatalk access is the ability to ban a user and delete every post they've ever made in about 20 seconds flat. That was fun.... errr I mean useful!

Re: Tapatalk support has been discontinued indefinitely....

Was sad to see ls1 gone from tapatalk as it is so simple to use and ls1 on mobile web was so complicated.
Plus it was great having the 3 forums I frequently visit in the one spot.
However after having a play around with the new improved ls1 it is certainly a lot easier to navigate around then the old days. So great job
A couple of suggestions to consider:
    1. An unread section similar to tapatalk
    2. A participated section similar to tapatalk
    3. An app that can be downloaded and links you straight to ls1 online to make it easier to start up
Some of these may be up and running, I just haven't seen them yet, some maybe in the pipeline.

Meh... a man as smart as you should be able to work out how get to it set up pretty quick!

I have seen some of your build threads.

As I posted before, all you need is to create a couple of shortcuts

Agreed, just checked the new mobile version and it's much easier to use. Will go back and check the other forums I have on Tapatalk to see if they have decent mobile versions, then I may even ditch it altogether now I'm down to 2 forums, and only 1 I look at regularly.

So what is the mobile address?

    Both mobile.ls1.com.au and m.ls1.com.au are 404

Testing from Windows Phone 8.1.1 here.
