    VF GTS Wagon

I havent had a project to post up on here for a while. But this one qualifies

Last week a mate cost me a lot of money. He messaged me a Stat Writeoff 2014 VF GTS Auction in sydney.

My propensity for wagons is weel know and he calmy suggested that I make a wgon out of it.

So................................................ . A plane flight, an auction and $30K Later this is now back at my place

    Damage close ups.

The damage is minimal and we cant work out why it was written off. The hit in the rear has damaged the battery and has leaked acid everywhere. It needs a bonnet and a front guard plus a headlight. The rest of the damaged stuff will be binned.

EVERYTHING else is intact including the wheels and tires. The car started ran and drove even with the damaged battery.

Now just tof find a VE Donor Wagon body and do this.

I started disassembly at the "Shop" (It is my personal workshopp for projects as I work in IT and this is just a hobby but we have some space at work dedicated to this so for simplicity its the shop)

A slege hammer was required to get the old battery out and some careful surgery to get the metal around some of the damaged metat to free all the computers and wireing harnesses.

    Seats out - Dash Out.

    On to the front.

I'll keep this updated as I progress..

Might even Lay out the whole lot on the floor once its all out just for a laugh...

Really looking forward to this and the end result.

    Hope You Enjoy

    cheers

    Cobalt

That Katie wagon you built was fantastic mate and got you through a tough time. Great to see you tackling another.

I believe this GTS was written of a power cruise or power play in Sydney a few months ago. A should show what happened (seemd like the driver turned off all aids, floored it down the straight, ran out of talent).

This will be a fantastic wagon mate, will be following the build.

    The vehicles rego was "Deal"

I not sure it's the same vehicle as it doesnt really add up with a concrete barrier as there is no damage to the front or rear bumper.

    Awesome build.

I found a video on Facebook of a VF GTS ass slamming a wall at power cruise, not sure its this car though, video is too low res to see all the detail so its hard to tell.

Anyway, one mans junk is another mans treasure!! Will be watching this thread closely.

The beauty here for you in transplanting to a VE Wagon you have the entire working harnesses/modules/computers so no trickery is involved.
Good luck with it & knowing your capabilities it will be a great job too!

Seems the more i dig in the more it will require modification. The keyless entry module and the parking computer reside on the parcel tray of the Sedan... Where fo they go in the Wagon? I also dont have access to the current Holden Computer system like I did with the previous models and these are quite a bit more complex. Seems they have at least learnt a few lessons with how they do the wiring.... Time will tell I spose.

If anyone has info they could share re the wiring that would be Awesome... I Suggest a PM would be appropriate as I dont want to get anyone in trouble....

    Cheers

Definitely tuning in here, I'm a wagon guy to and your previous project gave me the inspiration to buy my VY Berlina wags and turn it into a Senator Estate, but allas it got parked up due to personal issues and eventually had to sell it (so I shall live vicariously through this thread again )..

In saying that though the VE Wagon or at least our Calais V hides a few modules in the rear panels near where the Batt sits so shouldn't be a huge issue to move to those spots also.

Will you use the torque vectoring diff?
I believe they take up quite a bit more room than a standard one

The GTS has the mrc module near the battery and another module under the battery... I will go and talk to my contact at holden parts and pick through the computer to see if I can find out whrere they stash the modules.
