    VE Torana

Well have been a member of this forum for a fair while and and have seen a few good conversions/write-ups posted on this page.. most notably IJ's one tonner AWD and Lexcen AWD... so thought it might be time to post some stuff up about a project i have undertaken...

life started as a 6cyl LH Torana... and will under go a transformation which may not be to all's taste.. it will be a true conversion with alot of mechanical changes along with electrical... wont be your run of the mill parts swap from one shell to another

Only problem I can see is getting a decent "wires guy" to put it all together & make it work

    Re: VE Torana

I might suggest using Sideshow for the wiring.
Never dealt with them but have heard that they are not too bad.
Tell them you are a member of the forum and they might look after you on price.

Wiring is all sorted guys - I know Justin from Prowire - this would be past him... (but one of the best auto elecs with the Milspec stuff!!!!) and Sideshows - Jim is my mate and i used to work with him - I will be using Ultimate Conversion Wiring - as that's my Business (pretty sure Micks was taking the piss so i was falling suit)

there is a lot of CAN/LScan stuff in this car along with module programming and tricking to get what i want done... the more i post in this thread it will become more clear to you all.

    Hey Justin,

have you chosen a colour for it yet?

Will this be engineered as a street driven car , a track car or a show or promotion car?

2 colours - either wildfire (VE series 2 colour) or latest mazda colour red

yes fully engineered ... no fun if cant drive it on the street if worrying what the popo will do..... and also a bit of promotional work and show to start with

This appeals to me on many levels. I'm a big fan of the race series in the states, old bodies with upto date running gear.

The modern interior is going to look cool also, full house if I'm picking up what you are putting down?

    Re: VE Torana

VE SSV Accelerator pedal, Factory Torana brake pedal with cut down pedal pad and SSV pedal cover, Under dash hydraulic clutch pedal with SSV pedal pad

Both the brake and clutch pedals run the variable potentiometer setup like factory VE so modified to suit Torana and the non VE pedal setup

VE Dual zone HVAC box was about 15cm's too tall for the Torana.. plus also the shape is totally different. The box has been highly modified with custom top vents.. Also the box actually started life as a single zone so i pulled it apart and made it dual zone
