Wayne Maxwell wins ASBK Race 1 at Winton today...
Just noticed brand new 2017 GSX-R1000 ABS (Australian base model) are now on runout @ $17990 AUD ride away no more to pay, including free bonus factory quick shifter...
Down from full retail price on 2017 release of $22990... A full $5000 cheaper...
http://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au/range/road/supersport/gsx-r1000-abs/features
As a comparison, when the 2016's where on runout (only one model with everything), you could pick one up for $15990...
Just shows how over priced the 2017 and up GSX-R1000's were IMO...
2017 GSX-R1000R on runout are still way expensive at $25990 ride away no more to pay, down from full retail price on 2017 release of $27490 ride away. Only $1500 off...

Dealers still trying to move 2017 stock for about $21,###.
Looks like a cracking bike but I can’t see the money in it.... my 10 year old ninja is more than fast enough for the odd snowy trip and a couple of track days per year, not sure what I gain in upgrading.
Yes totally agree, and there's no 2019 model to be released in Australia, as like you said, there've still got surplus 2017 stock to sell. (too over priced on released it was a joke IMO...)
Their is essentially no difference between 2017 / 2018 / 2019 model years anyway, except for the colour scheme's.
I'm in the same boat, I can't see the point of upgrading, I only ride on the street these days and on my stock 2002 GSX-R1000 K2, I've done a 10.3 second quarter at Calder myself.
All the latest model superbikes are only running very similar times in the quarter mile, their not light years faster in the quarter mile.
On a race track it would be a whole different ball game, and they would eat my bike for breakfast with their extra 50 hp.
But... to be able to be making their 200hp, you have to be doing over 150 km/h + , to even access their 200hp...
Which when riding on the street, is totally useless / redundant...
Their just so highly geared, to make them rideable.
This explains why in the quarter mile, even thou they have an extra 50hp, if you can't get the power to the ground and be able to keep the front wheel on the deck, there is no advantage in stock form.
I really like GSX-R1000's, but the looks of the 2017 / 2018 / 2019 don't totally do it for me IMO, they just look too plane and not aggressive enough.
Just have to wait and see when Suzuki bring out their duel circuit (intake & exhaust cams) hydraulic VVT which Suzuki filed patent's for early this year...
Interesting times ahead...
I've been following that saga for the last year or so.
Bad luck for Ricky, bit sore loserish having Chris' motor stripped down though.
See how round 2 goes.
Yes, it's been very entertaining following Chris's You Tube channel for ages now myself too, and with all the banter between Ricky and Chris thrown in aswell.
Chris mentioned a while back in one of his video's that Ricky raced and won on Suzuki's back in his early days which is ironic with all of Ricky's Suzuki trash talk Hahaha...
Found this early pic of Ricky's championship winning Suzuki... Classic...
It'll be great when Chris first gets his hands on the all new Hayabusa in the coming months and see what he does with it.
I'd never really heard of Chris Moore before, I'm a bit of a Kawa fan and had been following RG for a while before that.
Thought I'd jump on the the CM$ channel to follow the lead up and entertainment on both sides. Will stick around and keep watching his content anyways.
Ghost Rider returns in Full 4K Resolution... from 4 weeks ago...
Crazy...

OMFG ............. that was just a little bit insane.
As a young lad (17'ish) I used to hitch hike a LOT as it was my only form of transport at the time (I lived in the hills ....... Dandenong Ranges in Melb and all my mates and all the fun was at NOT in the hills)....
One late night I was hitching on the side of the ride (down before Knox City on Burwood Hwy for any one who knows the area) and a rather large group of well known bikies (with lots of patches and the likes) came roaring up the road. So there's me with my thump out 'wishing' that someone would pull over and give me a thrill (careful what you wish for Franga)....... and Fark me, they ALL pulled over. Big bloke at the front stops next to me says "Get on" ............. little naive me thinks (you farking rippa) ....... so I jump on the back of this big thunking hog and lean over to say 'where's my helmet' and GeeeeeeZUS ...... Off we went .....
After about 30 seconds (no helmet) I lose ALL my brevado and wrap my arms around this blokes waist and hang on like grim death ............... I must have looked like a sad little gay boy at this stage ....... and I can remember 2 things VERY clearly....
1. Leaning slightly to side to take a look at the speedo as my mouth flapped like a Great Dane in the wind and my eyes p1ssed water to see the speedo hitting the limit (what ever it was it was fast and I near pooped)..
2. Every other biker in this pack pulling up next to me one by one to look at me and laugh their tits off ..........
5 minutes later (that was it 5 minutes tops), all of sudden they all pulled over with the bloke at the front and me still madly clinging onto him like 'powered toast man' ("Quick man, cling tenaciously to my buttocks") and he turns to me and say "Get off"
They all roared off into the distance pissing themselves laughing ...............
I'm 55 now and still remember every second of that ride and those tattooed toothless faces laughing their heads off at me .............
Hitching was good to me back then, but in hindsight sooooooo many things could have happened to that young innocent little fella ............. (I'm adamant a mate and I got picked up by a certain serial killer about a year later hitching through a certain forest area ..............)
Fun times and good memories (most of them).
