Yeah, that is the City Holden City Holden lol, drove past there last week and not much stock that I could see apart from a few Colorado's. The Hillcrest one is on Main North Road.

Hamilton Holden on Brighton Road is now only selling MG

The place is massive & I can't imagine them selling anything like the volume which would be needed to survive in a place that big for very long.

They have been advertising for sales staff for weeks.

I don't go past there very often Martin but will try & remember to take one if I am near.

I went past there about 2 weeks ago when they were removing the Holden corporate signage from the hoardings
it was eerie because I could see some of the old hand painted John H Ellers signwriting still on the hoardings underneath, wish I had taken pics that day!

(I actually remember talking to the DP a few years ago when they were told they had to upgrade to the latest Holden back lit signage & it cost him
a bit over $180,000 from memory, he was not happy about having to spend the money because the place did look great already.)

The original signage was revealed at Preston Motors Holden Keilor Rd Niddrie Vic eariler this year, and it had more character than the current Holden signage they removed, that was covering up its former glory past history IMO...

The dealership has now relocated to Essendon Fields and is one of Australians largest Holden dealerships currently.

Booran Holden Cheltenham which used to be Balmoral Holden are currently displaying Balmoral Holden signage, very similar to that!

Yeah, that's a very early shot of Booran, and the uncovered sign is of Balmoral Holden, which preceeds that,....I was up there this evening having a look around.

that is the ORIGINAL Booran holden in Booran rd Caulfield!
    and
yeah... hence the name. Started by Mike Cadden about 1967 (from memory),
it as a business expanded.... first took over Boyanton Holden in Bentleigh
( trivia...I went to school with the DP's daughter, Barbara )
and then eventually Balmoral in Cheltenham (late 80's? 1990? ), which then
became Booran Holden (as the business group grew)

more Trivia... my ol'man was running around in a HZ Holden ( I got on employee
purchase when at GMH) and when Camira came out, he wanted to trade the Holden
and get one, so we went down to Balmoral. Still have the Camira brochure... below

oh... and why not on the Employee purchase scheme? I had just bought my brother
a Camira wagon on the scheme... 1.6 litre manual and you can only get one a year

Got my first brand new Commodore from this dealer when they were Ellers

A VS Series 2 Executive Manaul. Sales person couldn't believe that the Exec came as a manual.

A mate of mine is still a salesman there,
he left City Holden to go there back when it was John H Ellers back around 1990.
I remember in the 1980's they also had the big yard on West Terrace where CMI Toyota used cars is now.

Do you remember the funny Ellers commercials on the radio & television from back in those days?

Ah right,..Lol!!....when I saw this image, I couldn't quite picture it at Cheltenham, but I thought the building must've been "re-modelled" or whatever over the years, which is why it looked a bit "different" to me. You have now explained why!!!
There's not much of "Holden" left in the signage now, it's all Kia, about all I could see was a large Holden Lion Logo in the middle of the Kia signage/building!!.......plus of course the old "uncovered" Balmoral wording, which adorns the Used car building, which I imagine won't be there for long.
I did see a GM Sierra 1500 somewhat obscured on the external lot, it'll be interesting to see where they display GM SV, Corvette etc.
