Power steering cooler or auto trans cooler perhaps?
Just replaced the water pump on my VU SS ute with a GMB unit. Also did a pulley kit and drive belts replacement while I was at it. All good, purrs like a lion cub now.
My question, after doing the work I noticed the smaller front Calsonic radiator did not feel very hot when the motor was running at operating temp, is this normal, and what is this smaller radiator’s actual function anyway? Auto trans cooler, oil cooler, not really sure??
Power steering cooler or auto trans cooler perhaps?
Power steering hey, never would have thought power steering fluid needed a cooler?
That would explain why it felt cool to the touch even though the engine temp was sitting at 92c. Had it running in park while inspecting the drive belts change, but hadn’t driven it anywhere to use the power steering.
Update: Have it sorted now, turns out it’s the A/C condenser I was describing as the smaller radiator, e.g pic via this link..
