    Regards, Martin.

    Thank you Martin.

It has an L82 350 cubic inch engine.
    Turbo 400 automatic.
    3.55 posi lock diff.

Has a number of factory options including white soft top convertible, silver "deluxe leather" interior, power steering,
power windows, power brakes, & factory air conditioning.

I have not got any decent engine pictures at the moment but will take some in the near future.

I have had it for around 7 months, an older guy from around here went over to California & bought it from a classic car dealer / specialist
had his holidays about 10 years ago & drove around while he was over there.

When he returned, he had it shipped over here & sold it to me when he moved into a retirement village.

Excellent, some nice options there, I know it's a convertible, but I'd still want A.C. as you have, in Aussie conditions.
    Thanks, Martin.

Trying to sort the air conditioning out has been a lot of work,
I was told that it had been degassed to come into Australia & that it was fine before but never been regassed.

I was not expecting it to be that simple & I was 100% correct.

First time I gassed it the compressor leaked instantly from the seal at the rear.

Replaced seal & gassed it again to find the compressor was not compressing anything.
Went out to try and find a new or recon compressor or someone who could kit mine
& a mate with a car air con shop told me that he had a good one he had lying around taken
off another car & I could give it a shot with the offer that if it worked I would pay $50
and if there was a problem it was nothing.

I gassed it a 3rd time & it had a minor leak from the compressor housing but it was free & it was only a minor leak
so I could trouble shoot the rest of the system.

I have bought a genuine Delco Gold remanufactured compressor from the states, (Delco do their own remanufactured products)
I am waiting for it to arrive.

I have also had to repair wiring to get the fan to work, had dash apart to fix vacuum actuators,
upgraded & retrofitted (including making up big spacers, wiring & fitting plates) a better later model fan.
Common problem in the C3's is air flow from factory air.

I have also had problems with some parts of the system icing up when I had it half working.

    It's a long road.

Need to be careful with those accumulator/dryers they have an activated core inside them like a regular dryer, once it's been open to the atmosphere for over ten mins it should be replaced. Can cause many of those freezing up problems you describe.

That is one sweet looking Vette Ed. I really like the Silver interior, goes great with the white and looks quite tasteful.

I cannot ever remember seeing a car with that colour interior, not in the US and definitely not here in Australia. Must be quite rare?
