    R.I.P John Harvey

Sad day , John Harvey aka Slug passed away from lung cancer aged 82. Very underrated I thought and kinda lost in the limelight being with Brock. Never complained about playing second fiddle and stayed with Brock long after others had deserted the ship.

    R.I.P

    R.I.P
first met John about 1980.. maybe June 1980 when setting up HDT (Take2 under Brock).

my boss at GMH at the time who had met John back in his Qld Speedway days
was asked, is there any one in your team who can help set up the Admin for a new
road and race car business GMH will be be involved in. I got the guernsey...

Then lots of meetings in house at Salmon st, inc several with one PBrock, I headed out one day
to the new factory in North Melbourne.. set up for the road car mod process (VC HDT SL/E Commodore)

I had a meeting appointment with Peter and on arriving, he said .. let's go find Slug.
And.. so, I was introduced to Slug. And John Harvey was just a normal guy I found out
.. easy going and a very good steerer too!

John is (or I should say was) also patron of one of the car clubs I belong to these days.

    RIP Slug.. just sad

Sad day. My connection is only through my old 1989 SV5000 No: 25, John's racing number.

    God bless him.
