they need to do something in the market place... Kawasaki are kicking their arse big time!
    with
2 hyper bikes in their range, the latest with a supercharged engine*

    and its little (!) brother...

    https://kawasaki.com.au/shop/motorcy...nja-1000sx-se/

couple of my mates (and in one case, his girlfriend!) have bought these

    * mate who currently has a Kwaka ZX14r bought the Z H2 coz its got more oomph
than the 14! (which is no slouch, it has 192hp and does 1/4 mile: 9.783 seconds, at 149mph- Kawasaki data)
yeah.. he wanted MORE grunt than that

I bought a brand new Suzuki GSX-R1000 K2 ( OEM Rated at 160hp ) back in October 2001, which I still have today nearly 20 years later.

It's approximately 50Kg lighter than the slightly more powerful 2001 Hayabusa, ( OEM rated at 175HP )

I've run it at Calder a couple of times in the past completely stock, did a best of 10.388 seconds @ 139.55 MPH / 224.58 Km/h myself.

I haven't seen the need to update it.

    ditto me ... sort of.

    I tested a new ZX14R against my 2nd hand (4 year old, 1500km ) A model ZX12R ... the first unrestricted 12R model
back when the 14 was released... and kept the 12R.

Test ridden lots since (Ducs, Hondas, BiMota etc) , but nothing comes close for a mixture of long distance missile
and just nuts hyper bike in the 12R. AMCN tested one at Calder doing easy 9.7s at silly speeds (150 something mph)
and then later at Avalon, with a radar gun. It read ....323kmh. (thing has a 360kmh speedo!)

Like you, found nothing to update to.

    Excellent.
I've never ridden a Motor bike on the road, & I'm too old to start now.
I grew up in the era when the 650CC Triumph Bonneville, with its dual Amals & 44bhp made you "king of the road", I think Marlon Brando rode a Triumph Trophy in "The Wild One"?
All like dinky toys compared to the stuff that's around now that you're talking about. I wanted to get a Motor Cycle because in the day, you could apply 9 months before a car license,.....I had my eye on a 350 Jawa, but it never happened.
I have a friend who is an experienced rider & owned a Hayabusa, and was teaching his daughter to ride, He said that you have to treat every other person on the road as an assassin?

    Martin
I first rode a Peewee at about age 12 or 13 around some local paddocks and when the time came, at 17 I got a road licence
    and
it quickly became obvious, even back in the 70s, that when on a bike you have to treat EVERY other road user as out to get you!

Your friend is 100% spot on....

The new 'Busa would make for a nice cruiser but neither this or the new ZX-14 will keep with a modern litre bike (or any from the last decade or so). The proper H2 is the new speed king.

I don't know how anybody can handle the power from these or litre bikes. I've got a 2012 ZX14R and a 2006 ZX10R and I can't bring myself to open them up!

At least with my older 90's 750's the power is useable and you can rev them a bit......
You know where, and you know when!!
