    2010 ve ss - new diff ratio

    my diff had to be rebuilt , so at the time i changed ratio to 4.11 ( hardy ever any freeway running).
    Does this affect the speedo at all, as in does something need changing.

    Yes speedo/PCM will need recal with any ratio change. 5min job.

    thanks for that info.

    Is that something any local mechanic can do. Also any idea about price , so i dont get ripped off

    Not 100% sure but suspect it needs a Tech 2 or HP Tuners or EFI Live, in which case it might cost you a licence fee ($100?) plus whatever the shop charges for 5 min?

    Gaz can do mine in 5 mins, a shop most likely 2hrs who knows?

    yeah .. TECH2
    most decent repair shops (have to) have it these days
    even if only to clear some codes that they have physically fixed
    (new sender etc)

    the problem here is that it is a custom job.. as the ratio change is not to a factory ratio
    so I think it won't be a 5 min correction.

    Sams Performance in Padstow back in 2010 did my first VE ratio change/recal in a few mins and then a coupla more mins to put on the dyno to confirm.
